Terrific value course
Terrific value woodland course. Short in yards made up for in strategy, plays off 5400 on yellow. Difficult to review all facilities because of covid, but pro shop was open and seemed well stocked and good guy. You could get takeaway coffee and bacons rolls etc to eat out. Nice little practice green, and some nets. Really well laid out course, a good challenge.Reviewer Rating

Short but hilly course with lots of tree lined fairways. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. We paid £24.50 for a round on a Sunday afternoon.

Short but enjoyable course.
Warm welcome in the pro shop and bar afterwards.
Large group of 'yoofs' hanging about on the 17th tee which was awkward but not sure the club could do much about that.
Would play again.

Worst kept course I've played for a while.Sandy greens with some holes created by animals left.
Fairways bare, bumpy with holes.
Course has a nice layout, but clear that it hasn't been cared for for a number of years. ?39pp is a joke.

Friendly people, decent course, but....
This is a tough challenge. Very tight, lots of dog legs. Which are the defences over it not being very long. Knowing where to go off the tee is pretty much essential and on some holes leads to taking some very serious risks. However, there are a few holes, especially on the back nine that, IMHO don't work or are kind of tricked up to make them more difficult. For example, The 12th is played over a hedge from the tee. It's a short hole, but you have to play even shorter because there's another hedge about 50 yards short of the green. There's what looks like a gateway space cut into this hedge. It has an air of a crazy golf hole. The 17th could be a great hole, if not for another hedge, across it at about 250 yards. Sure, it's there to stop you driving it. But bunkers would do the same job. Get it slightly long / wrong and you're in the hedge and penalised unnecessarily. On the day we played here, most of the greens were soaking wet and incredibly soft (not just receptive). Many had also been recently tined (in a hot August?). My guess is they have had issues recently and are trying to correct them. Big plus point is the people here, really couldn't do enough for us. That said, I'm not sure I'd rush back.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 88 Handicap: 10.2)

Leave the Driver at home
Quirky little course but leave your Driver and Woods at home.Upon arrival the guy in the pro shop was very helpful and described the course in detail to us, recommending shot to play on certain holes. This was very useful and helped on a number of holes.
Most holes are short and are dog legs, cutting the corners is not an option. Therefore a mid-long iron off the tee then a mid-short iron in is the best play.
All fairways are lined with trees. Greens were in good condition. Tee boxes could do with some work.
Overall a tricky course that needs some thinking.

Why haven't I played this course before
The course was in very good condition and although not long was very challenging. Having discovered this gem, I will be back to play it again and again.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 86 Handicap: 12.4)

Far too Tight with the trees taking over the course. Some tee shots are through a narrow gap between mature trees spreading from each side. Good shots are sometimes punished severely which is very frustrating. NOT a course for high handicap golfers at all. Not very long though and good greens. Overall too much frustration outweighs everything else

Ideal Strategic course
Always happy to return here & work on shorter game & more risk or reward options than many other. Well placed hazards, dog legs, trees & bushes all feature as well as bunkers, cambers, & gullies & streams. Greens were v good. Fairways dry & hard. A very good challenge.Reviewer Rating

Enjoyed getting back here to enjoy summer conditions. The odd bare patch away from the fairways are the only signs & course playing well. Really find it challenging despite only 1 par 5 with lots of doglegs, trees, fairways cambers, making it rare to get a chance to hit a green 2nd shot - which is great. The bunkers could do with more or better sand but a great Braid course.
