Course in Terrible Condition

Course is in terrible condition due to the use of buggies and trolleys still being permitted onto the course. Very difficult to differentiate between rough and fairway and expect a 5 hour round.

I moved home and the course was local so I thought this course would be ideal, but unfortunately the prices are expensive for the quality of fairways, greens and course design, the staff from front of house to the green keeper were rude and not welcoming at all. I was very disappointed.

Played today which i know is winter but the course was really poor. Field with holes in it. Fairways very very heavy and not defined - better on the back 9. Green were shocking , like putting on compacted mud. At £20 not good value. The welcome was very good.

The front 9 holes are in terrible condition, the fairways are so poorly maintained that is is like playing a shot out the rough. They cut the grass but do not bother gathering the grass clippings. You are guaranteed to have cut grass interfering with your shot every time. It was our first time playing there so we were unaware of the course layout which is usually not a problem as most course have arrows and sign directing you around the course, not this place, they haven't bothered putting signs up, pretty much expecting you to use 'the force' to find your way around. Considering they're charging £20 for a round there are many other much nicer courses around for the same price or cheaper e.g Bluemountain, BIrd HIlls, Downshire and Huntswood.

Not worth ?36

I think some of the previous negative comments are slightly harsh... dependant on time of year (autumn) you have to let the grass grow and sometimes the fairways and first cut can be difficult to identify.
I played yesterday (midweek April spring day) and the fairways were mown and greens too. The bunkers had decent amount of sand, and on the whole, the course is in fair/good condition.
Off the fairway and into the rough, things are unkept and tatty, and signage is poor, especially between 9 &10...
I personally feel ?36 (midweek rate) is a bit steep, considering other courses offer better quality for similar/less money.

Perfect for high handicappers

Nice set, course and facilities. Flat course, little sand, little rough so ideal for novice golfers

Any ball not on the fairway is in very close, dense growth that is almost impossible to play a shot out. The only way I can cut through it is by playing a 60 degree wedge. This spoils the round for anyone over except low handicappers.

Fantastic value at £10 for 18 holes twilight. However, the fairways were not in good conditions and the temporary green on 12th was an absolute joke.

For £10 though I am very happy with the experience.

Rough was very penal just off the fairway (for a public course) and on some holes the grass cuttings were in place. Fairways and greens were good.
