What's gone wrong?!

Played recently with our society here, we have been coming for a number of years. Disappointing to say that the course condition and overall appearance has fallen dramatically. It wasn\'t upto the high standards we are use to. Daisy\'s in the fairways, bunkers full of stones, bunkers not edged, trees with nettles and long grass growing up the bases just off the fairways. Greens looked aweful, but to be honest where true and of a decent pace. Sad to say, but this apppears to be another club that is struggling. The bar staff and pro shop where upto their usual high standards. Always made to feel welcome and great food. But we do go there for the golf do we not......

I have played this course twice now as a visitor and live in the area. It is a great course and one of the best playing conditions around, but the members are not nice to visitors and both times I've played I've had confrontations with members. Both times were started by members. I'd recommend playing the course or just using the range, but I likely won't go back to play 18 since the members are not friendly.

The reason for marking the course down was the fact that a number of fairways and some areas just into the trees still had leaves scattered all over them, which delayed the round looking for balls. Otherwise the course was in good condition considering the amount of rain 2 days previous.

This course was enormously long even off the yellows. 6600 yards and was played in difficult conditions. Unrelenting!

I had the chance of playing 6 courses in 8 days around the Cotswolds. To give people an idea of how they compared, I ranked them as follows: 1. Frilford Heath (Red Course) 2. Chipping Norton 3. Richmond Golf Club (In London) 4. Witney Lakes 5. Wychwood 6. Carswell. In respect of Wychwood, it was a lovely course, but just a little bit flat and plain when compared to chipping norton. But it was in very good condition, with greens and fairways all good and was well worth playing there.

Nice course

I played The Wychwood as part of a small golf society. The course was in excellent condition, even after rain had fallen over the previous two days. It's a visually interesting course and certainly challenging enough for the majority of our players. The bunkers were all in good condition (always a sign of a well kept course) and the fairways were good despite the recent rain. The clubhouse is smart, if a little clinical and utilitarian, but we were given a good lunch of ham, eggs and chips (the ham was excellent!). We all had avery enjoyable day and we would definitely play at The Wychwood again.

Great Course with lots of water

This course is a hidden gem In The Cotswolds. Friendly club pro always willing to offer help and a good bar with great food. The course has a lot of water featured holes and this makes for a very interesting course.
