Definitely a jewel in the sun!

Great experience with outstanding facilities as well as 3 awesome courses. The only down side is having to play off mats on the Ailsa course, no goody bag or free stroke savers. It is still well worth the money and a must play resort.

Great course but the halfway house was shocking, far too overpriced, don't mind paying good money for good food but the sandwich was shocking, two pieces of the cheapest brown bread with some coronation chicken filler and served on a plastic plate. golf was good, not a hard course to play, enjoyed it and ticked off the bucket list.

Outstanding would pay again at the drop of a hat

the Lodges are a little dated carpets may need renewing however the beds were outstanding had a great nights sleep. The main hotel was out of this world as was the club house. The staff could not do enough for you. Both courses we excellent very intimidating but cosmetically stunning however very playable one of my rounds was one of the best I have played this year would pay again at the drop of a hat.

'Simply Stunning'

Played the Ailsa and King Robert The Bruce at the weekend and it was brilliant.
From the moment you arrive at the venue it looks fantastic with the hotel and lodges on one side of the road and the courses and practice facilities on the other side.
Staff are courteous and friendly and cant do enough to help.
The Clubhouse, Pro Shop and facilities are out of this world and the best I have ever seen.
The Ailsa is visually stunning and despite having some rain on the front nine it did not detract from the experience in the slightest.
We played off the white tees and although a challenge the course was fantastic with every hole different.
Robert the Bruce is not in the same bracket as Ailsa however it would stand up on its own as being well worth playing.
Overall a weekend that I wont forget and well worth the 600 mile round trip and 5 hour car journey each way to get there.
If you get the chance to play it then don't miss the opportunity.
I was lucky enough to play the 2010 at Celtic Manor last month and that is not in the same league as Turnberry.

Love the changes to the Ailsa course, especially the 9th. You can see the beach much more know and some of the holes are tougher.
The Lighthouse is used as a halfway house. It is the best halfway house in the world. The view alone is stunning

Fantastic experience and well worth the money, the practice facilities and course are exceptional and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The drinks and food are a bit pricey but the clubhouse and the views are stunning.

What a great upgrade to the course, although the Par 3's a very alike, members feel they are too similar, the roll offs from the greens are a bit of a nightmare.
that said its in great condition and well worth a visit, cant wait until the Kintyre course is ready to give it a go.
All in all a great day with great facilities.
