What a shame
Had high expectations of this course after reading such positive reviews. It is unfortunately all untrue, poor timings, sour staff and an overall unwelcoming atmosphere. Will not be returning. Course conditions second to none shame everything else let’s it down.Reviewer Rating

Usually I find the greens to be poorly kept, but today I found many of them have been scarified and filled with sand making them very bobbly and impossible to predict.
Bunker quality is variable; some have sand, others are solid (today they were mostly filled with a few inches of water).
General upkeep and use of the course is poor as well; so many pitch marks left unrepaired and you can almost guarantee that you'll be playing a bunker shot from someone else's footprint as very few seem to rake them.
The footgolf craze has made the academy course pointless now (though the greens were shocking on it before that started too) and there are quite a few holes on the gold where you can be disturbed by the noise of the footgolfists.
Bar facilities seem good and the staff in the shop are courteous if not overly friendly.
Overall an average course to hack around, but there are better in the area for similar money.

My experience at The Shropshire was great. The course was in good condition, fairways were manicured nicely, and the greens were consistent and rolled true. The sand traps were perfectly raked and a pleasure to play from. The dryness didn't affect playability as the greens still held the ball nicely. Of course, the bar facilities were above par with a generous selection of beverages at reasonable prices. All in all, a great experience and a course I would highly recommend to others.
