Following the good reviews on here 3 mates and I decided to take a trip out and try this venue. We all had a very enjoyable experience. We are not great players but the course was fair and easy to walk. We played the silver and gold combination and there are some really good holes. This club are proactive as we signed up for their player card discount and we received a text offer of twilight round with burger for £14.99. Great price. The greens were good. Not too long a course. Off 15 I won with 38 points. Service was great in the clubhouse afterwards and all in all a thoroughly enjoyable day. Will definitely be back as it is a long time as a visitor we have felt this welcome at a golf club. Just wish we lived nearer to join. Give it a try recommended.

What a shame

Had high expectations of this course after reading such positive reviews. It is unfortunately all untrue, poor timings, sour staff and an overall unwelcoming atmosphere. Will not be returning. Course conditions second to none shame everything else let’s it down.

21/3/15 went for a quiet practice session. Tried the driving range but could not concentrate due to foot golfers trying to copy Happy Gilmore, their Language was so bad a woman next to me left half her balls and walked out. I decided to go outside but ended up being abused by a group of teenagers on the chipping green. Apparently I was sad loner for working on my game. To top it off watched a player walk off the gold 9th hole wearing jeans and a hoody! The club is nose diving quickly since the introduction of Foot golf. There is no respect for golfers and I will not be returning.

Played today 16/03/2014. Course is drying up well but the greens must be the worst I have ever seen, you would have more luck holding a putt on a cobble street!! I play the Shropshire a lot due to being so close to home and usually worth the money. I am a Green Keeper and having gone through a really warm dry spell there is no excuse for the greens being in such a state. Such a shame because the Shropshire has everything to be a truly great course. A golf course should be prided on its greens!!!

Have played all parts of this course several times this year and normally think it's an okay course of municipal/pay-and-play quality, but at the moment it's in particularly poor condition.

Usually I find the greens to be poorly kept, but today I found many of them have been scarified and filled with sand making them very bobbly and impossible to predict.

Bunker quality is variable; some have sand, others are solid (today they were mostly filled with a few inches of water).

General upkeep and use of the course is poor as well; so many pitch marks left unrepaired and you can almost guarantee that you'll be playing a bunker shot from someone else's footprint as very few seem to rake them.

The footgolf craze has made the academy course pointless now (though the greens were shocking on it before that started too) and there are quite a few holes on the gold where you can be disturbed by the noise of the footgolfists.

Bar facilities seem good and the staff in the shop are courteous if not overly friendly.

Overall an average course to hack around, but there are better in the area for similar money.

Course still a bit rough in areas, daisys in the fairways make it hard to locate your ball. Greens improving slightly

My experience at The Shropshire was great. The course was in good condition, fairways were manicured nicely, and the greens were consistent and rolled true. The sand traps were perfectly raked and a pleasure to play from. The dryness didn't affect playability as the greens still held the ball nicely. Of course, the bar facilities were above par with a generous selection of beverages at reasonable prices. All in all, a great experience and a course I would highly recommend to others.
