This course demands long straight drives to get into the points. A bit breezy on the day with a lot of holes playing a club longer than expected. Good test of skill in a perfect setting. Course very well presented and the facilities here are first rate.

Splendid course - however I was booked in right in the middle of a corporate day. All competitors were either 3 or 4 balls and it took me 4 hours to get to the 15th. One of the competitors was extremely obnoxious to me saying that I was holding competitors up! I complained to the manager who offered me another round. I declined as I explained that I will not be returning.

Played in a winter open there today - very impressed with the condition of the course considering recent weather! Greens were fantastic and the food and welcome was second to non. A real gem.

Lovely course layout in tidy condition, the greens were excellent for the time of year. Will definitely be visiting here again to see how it plays in the summer

Pro shop closed on arrival so had to pay in the bar. Course was a little scruffy, thistles everywhere. Greens in good condition but the fringes bare and again scruffy , no sign of GUR to protect this areas.
It's 10 years since I played the Oaks and it has defiantly gone down hill in that time

Course in very good condition for the time of year. Greens had been spiked probably 2 weeks ago or so, and the back 9 greens especially had a lot of sand on them, but in April that’s almost to be expected anywhere. Fairways very good and the tee off boxes were exceptional. We liked the course, but all of us who played are good drivers of the ball and fairly long – something you have to be here because there are a number of par 5s and holes where you really need distance. The hardest 5 stroke index holes are well worth their ranking and are quite challenging. Number 10 into the wind requires a couple of really big hits to get onto the green and 14 with the severe dog leg right water requires a big second shot too.
There are a good mix of ordinary and interesting holes, generally fairly wide open and a bit of leeway for errant drives. My one issue with this course was lack of marker posts. There were only about 4-5 holes that had a 150 marker. Nothing else at all on most holes! It really felt like you were going in ‘blind’ with distances on a number of occasions, just having to guess how long you had left. Apart from this, it’s difficult to fault the place though. And off the course, the bar/spa facilities are really top quality. Cost just £15 per person which was pretty reasonable. We are certainly interested in coming back at some stage in the summer when course is in full bloom and greens at their best.

Fairways are only good but not brilliant, greens were great and the course plays very well, enjoyable round but tough on the legs.
