Interesting course but slow greens

Very interesting layout with driver not really being an option on many holes but others playing very long like the 243 yard par 3. Good condition overall but could tell straight away that the greens needed a cut which unfortunately meant they were quite slow. A few tee boxes could have been trimmed too. I’d recommend a visit though if you’re after a mid price course.

Short but enjoyable 18-holer with mature, tree-lined fairways. Greens were a bit bobbly in places. Some picturesque holes with the tricky 7th over the burn and the attractive 18th the pick.

Lovely course with very good facilities. Played on an overcast day following showers. Fairways and greens drained well.

The Hirsel Gc is a fantastic course in excellent condition despite it only being early April. I have played here several times and never been disappointed. It is a very picturesque course with a stream coming into play on several holes. and quite challenging. The greens are very good .All the staff from the Pro to the clubhouse are so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back again later in the year

Lovely course very friendly Trees are very scenic and lower branches cut to allow easier shots from semi and also allow ball to be seen dropping if you go in them,3 holes play across river leet, trolly or cart if you are not so able to walk up the hills

Cracking little summer course, ideal for outing as the course is fair and in good condition with good prices. The food was excellent, with a great balcony for a beer and watching the 18th green. Small pro shop but good stock and helpful staff. Would recommend..

Played here in Summer 2012 - enjoyed the course with a really good mix of hole layouts to give you enough challenge. Really peaceful setting. I really liked the Par 3's all different despite putting into the water from a green at the 7th - greenkeeper had the pin in a very tricky position.
The course is undulating in parts and those who have trouble walking should def take a buggy.
Only downside was that the greens, although not the worst, could have been a bit better.
The clubhouse facilities are good, with showers and bar / restaurant.
The proshop is relatively small but has what you would expect at a course.
Will be back

The Hirsel is a fine parkland layout with some beatiful holes, many flanked by mature trees. The river cleverly comes into play in front of 2 of the par 3's. The opening 3 par 4's are quite short so you need to get off to a good start as the back 9 is tougher. Very friendly staff in the pro shop and bar complete an excellent package which is well worth a visit.

A favourite of ours on our monthly society outings. This course is situated in the scottish borders on the outskirts of Coldstream on the A697. We make it a point to play this course every year and have been doing so for the last 9 or 10. Its a lovely little course that is always in excellent condition with lush fairways and true greens. The clubhouse facilities are superb with a balcony overlooking the 1st tee and the 18th green excellent for those summer afternoons watching the rest of the society coming down the 18th while you're relaxing with a drink in you're hand!

Outstanding

Before we went someone referred to it as 'the Augusta of the North', they weren't wrong. Fantastic course, beautiful condition and a great test of golf. It was also one of the most friendly and welcoming we've visited for a long while.
