Brilliant course (even for a beginner!)
Played this coursed a couple of times now and always enjoy it. Great variety of holes which obviously includes the infamous Par 6 and fabulous island 18th. Course was in very good condition and the greens were all very smooth and ran fast. With current CV-19 restrictions all the facilities were closed, so can't comment on the food & bar.Reviewer Rating

Nice Course and facilities
Played in a storm in terrible rain. Course held up ok.They keep the course open here every day and weekend was busy.
But great cause - nice holes and fast greens
Will come back

The course itself was still very wet from the recent heavy rain resulting in fairways being fairly muddy and the grass being more like rough. This resulting with all 6 players in our weekend away bring home higher than expected scores. The venue is excellent although the soup starter with the evening meal was more like a tin a chopped toms than soup. Would definitely recommend to others and would love to play the course in the summer as found the course challenging but fun. Staff were also very helpful. Many thanks to the receptionist and barman who helped us plan an excellent night out in Shrewsbury. They even planned the route plan for the night.

Excellent course --well maintained--exceptionally good greens. A good variety of holes ,offering a good challenge to all levels. Mainly parkland with a couple of "feature" holes-- approach over water etc . Greens fast and undulating and tricky to read-- head pro very approachable and helpful. Bar would benefit from serving hot food, but overall good facilities.

A lovely venue mismanaged
A lovely venue mismanaged by very slow play due to far too many players being allowed on the course. Shame because the hotel and whole set up is great. The rooms, facilities, bar and catering were excellent. Very picturesque in a lovely part of the country and the round was enjoyable but at almost 6 hours was way too long. The condition of the course was good and there were a few tricky holes. I would recommend and would be happy to return but not on a weekend.Reviewer Rating

The course was in very good nick considering the weather we had had in the previous weeks. Some long holes and large Greens. Our round was spoiled by members jumping in on the 10th tee, turning our round from enjoyable to a boring stop start back Nine. I wish clubs would bring back course Rangers.

Always nice to play here. Good mix of holes. Course in good condition, greens rolling nicely. Friendly staff and members out on the course. Happy to let me play through as I was playing quicker. Nice facility all round. Bargain at £25.

Wet
It's difficult to fairly evaluate the venue and course because it was so wet. We hit 4 excellent tee shots down the first on day one, couldn't find two of them plugged somewhere in the fairway. It was all too wet for my liking and I wish we?d had a refund.Reviewer Rating

Telford Golf and Spa
Due to the weather the course was in very poor condition. On the first day we could hardly distinguish the fairways from the rough. Admittedly, on the second day, they did manage to cut the fairways which did make a big improvement. The rough itself was very long and thick, giving no chance of finding your ball. Some of the fairways were extremely boggy. The driving range was out of action due to no balls.Reviewer Rating

Disappointed
Have to say we were very disappointed with the lack of organisation, on course management and attitude off staff. On Sunday morning we had an 11:42 tee time. We arrived at the first treat 11:30 to find four 4 balls ahead of us waiting to tee off. Eventually teed off 12:20 played the 1st and arrived on the second tee with four 4 balls waiting to tee off. It took us 45 minutes to play 2 holes, so we walked off extremely disappointed.We spoke to the staff in the pro- shop who didn't seem too bothered and stated that it would speed up after the par 3 4th hole. A starter and on course Marshall could have managed the situation and as the course was booked all day there isn't really reason to not have these in place.
We also played on Saturday and the round took 5 hrs 15 minutes! Why wasn't the halfway house open, when the course was rammed all day?
A shame really as the hotel and facilities are very good. Course was interesting and challenging and given the recent weather conditions, in reasonable condition.
Came away feeling let down and disappointed.

Excellent value for a weekend tee in lovely surroundings. Although it was good value there were parts of the course that were lacking attention, namely some of the tees, parts of several fairways and a few of the greens. These areas had little or no grass and were quite I?ll cared for. There were no markers to say what tee we were on but as we were following another 2 ball we managed to find our way around. The course itself had a few challenges and overall was enjoyable for the money.

Tree lined - typical Hotel course
1st half was a little up and down with all fairways lines with trees and next to each other except the 8th which had a nice touch in approach ocver water with big tree to one side. 2nd half a bit more variation. Greens good, not fast but not slow. Tee box es need a bit of TLC. If it wasn't for the map on the back of the card might have got lost a few times. Needs better marking and better indication of what hole you are playing. Nothing but the Black/White/Yellow plaques to indicsate the hole!Reviewer Rating
