A St. Andrews Old Course caddie's eye view of Tandridge
For years Gary Easson has caddied at the Old Course for the likes of Jordan Speith. A single figure golfer himself, he recently played Tandridge. Here's what he said:There are too many signature holes to choose a favourite which is a testament to Colt and his design. It's a beautiful course on a beautiful piece of land.
The fairways were lush. The greens were immaculate, fast and tricky to read.
I hope to play it again one day and would recommend it to anyone that loves there golf.
I’m spoiled with golf courses where I live and I’ve played some stunners.
Tandridge is right up there with the very best.
A pint of Harvey’s or two in the Colt bar and I was happy as Larry.

Based on the quality of the golf course and in particlar the simply amazing catering at this club, it should be regarded as highly as its possible to rate. Unfortunately the traditional (socks at knee length, etc etc) starchy culture will deter many. Don't be fooled by the shortness in length, some of the par fours will test the best - overall a wonderful experience, but when, when, when will clubs like this realise we have arrived in 2008 - if golf Europe wide still adopted these rules, the Americans would still be kicking our backsides in Ryder Cup golf, thank god most clubs have woken up.

Great course
Really good course, fairways suffering a bit for one reason or another but expect it will be back to its best very soon, greens tee boxes in excellent condition, some great holes well worth a visit.(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 95 Handicap: 14.7)

One of Surreys finest??
I don't like using the term hidden gem but I feel that when you venture to this part of the world there is lots of nice courses you can visit so in that sense Tandridge should make it onto your list!Fairly wide off most tees on the front 9 but well placed bunkers and run off areas make for a tough test. The greens are so pure its unbelievable. When you hit a good putt it stays hit!
The back feel harder but you just enjoy the stunning layout and fantastic scenery.
Should rate higher!

Good course where the hobbit lives
Hobbit style pines trees, loads of bunkers and changes in elevation. Greens just top dressed do not at their best but still true.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 16.3)

Super Harry Colt designed course
What a gem of a course hidden away in the Surrey countryside. Lovely old club house with great facilities. The course was still recovering from the hot Summer but was in good nick - and the greens were superb. A pleasure to play on and we were made very welcome. Highly recommended.(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 97 Handicap: 20)

What a great course in the Surrey hills , if you get a chance to play then do so as a little unknown gem , course is in excellent condition with tough bunkering and very fast good quality greens , in the top 100 courses of England.Beautiful old style clubhouse makes this place special with great catering facilities.

Superb day out. Excellent quality course and recent improvements to the front 9 including a number of new Harry Colt style bunkers really lift the visuals on the front nine. Club management must be applauded for taking this expensive task on and moving the course up a notch. The Top 100 beckons. The back nine is equally stunning due to large elevation changes. 13th is excellent long Par 3 and then view across the 14th is stunning. Greens were good, fairways were good, bunkers were good. All members and staff we met and spoke to were very friendly and service was top notch, yet relaxed. The carvery lunch was superb and included the best pork crackling I have ever tasted and a wonderful Tandridge pudding. £100 all in including the 3 course lunch and a Day ticket is great value for money. Very difficult to find genuine fault.

Excellent course, great condition
Played on a hot Summers day. Course was in great condition, greens were fast but true. Hospitality was very welcoming and food was excellent. Good practice putting green. Only downside to the driving range is it's not long enough to hit woods and driver on, at least if you hit it over 220 yardsReviewer Rating
