Not to be recommended

Heathland course, in pretty good condition considering the recent weather. Greens were very good, and the fairways wet in places but still very playable.
The problem was that when we finished our round, and wanted to go into the clubhouse for refreshment, we were not allowed to, being told that a couple of members of our party were not dressed appropriately. One was wearing shorts, and the other wearing smart trousers, although not a Golf ?brand?. This was not mentioned in any way when we were paying our green fees in the shop. The club was perfectly happy to take our ?275.00 for the 5 of us to use the course, but then presented us with a very rude and ignorant attitude afterwards. This club needs to get itself in to the 21st century, and change their arrogant, elitist approach to non-members. I will never recommend this club to anybody.

I have been a member of this club for the last five years. There is no doubt that this has been a fantastic course particularly around the time it hosted the 2010 English Amateur Open. The greens had improved no end and were faster than any others in the area. During the last six months I can only say that the course has declined rapidly. Basic routine jobs are no longer carried out and as a result the course is looking neglected in some areas. This just proves that a course is only as good as the staff who maintain it. For some reason the club have this year had less greenkeepers in the summer than they will have over the winter. It is for this reason that the course no longer is the best in the area and I will therefore not be renewing my membership next year.

Disappointed greens better but rest of course in a worse state than when I played last year. Bunkers not raked and lots of cow poo about. Wires round greens very annoying. Prefer Moor Hall.

Bit of a late review from November, nice round, heard much about it from social media, not for me I'm afraid. Greens nice enough for the time of year, not keen on the new bunkers i seen but its all personal preference I guess.

£40 for the winter series

I'm a fan of Sutton, but I'm not sure it's worth £40 through the winter months. the layout is tough if you're offline your in trouble, greens are excellent as are the fairways. white tee's are shabby tho and not in great condition.

excellent welcome by this years captain handing out the bacon sarnies on arrival, fantastic touch. trackman on the first tee :-) and trick shot by http://www.theaspirationgroup.co.uk on the 9th

A good day, but it's winter so I feel £30 is about right, but it's Sutton Coldfield not Brampton

Practice area is near 12th tee about 1/2 a mile away, but they have 2 nets at the club for quick warm up.

Got to keep it on the fairway, once in the Heather it can be difficult to either find the ball or to get it out cleanly. So a charming course but not for the light hearted.

Round with Friends

My experience at the Sutton Coldfield Golf Club was great. The course was in good condition, fairways were manicured nicely, and the greens were consistent and rolled true. The sand traps were perfectly raked and a pleasure to play from. The dryness didn't affect playability as the greens still held the ball nicely. Of course, the bar facilities were above par with a generous selection of beverages at reasonable prices. All in all, a great experience and a course I would highly recommend to others.
