My friends including one I’ve know all my life play elsewhere, but the lure of styal was too strong. I would recommend the course to anyone as it provides sufficient challenge for a relative new comer to the sport like me.
Great place.

Zzzzzz
First time I’ve ever fallen asleep playing golf, must be the most boring course in England. A 7 year old could design something better.Reviewer Rating

Decent course - No too wet considering the rain
Nice round, wasn't too busy and course was in decent condition considering snow and rain. 1 temporary green (due to snow) and 3 winter tees(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 101 Handicap: 28)

Tricky and Fun
First time playing styal.. was a great 18 hole course... was a wet day but the course is fantastic condition and the greens were extreemly fast for a wet day.. would certainly play here again..narrorow fairways with plenty of water features .. and not to mention the trees in the middle of the fairways.. I was particularly impressed with greens.(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 90 Handicap: 21.6)

Excellent fairways
On Monday, they have a discounted green fee and yet the course wasn't to busy. The first is a par 3 which always make it tricky to start with a par. The tees were good, with just a couple with too many divot marks. The fairways were really good, with a nice covering of grass and the ball sits up. The greens had a few marks from a full days play but putted well. There are three new greens on the back nine which look and play differently to the other 15.The course is around 6000 of the white tees with most par 4's under 380 yards, there is only one par 5. Watch out for the ponds, some are not obvious from the tee. I feel as though the layout could be improved which would stretch the course and create a bit more shape.

Excellent Society day out
14 of us played Styal yesterday on a bright clear day and I have to say that it was well enjoyed by everyone. It's easy walking but has enough of a challenge to suit players of all handicaps and was in very good condition. The staff were all very helpful and arrangements were all in place. Well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
