Played on the 6th April 2021 for the first time. The club car park and approach is underwhelming as it in an industrial estate. Not enough money has been invested in the club and is confirmed by the poor paving and brickwork outside the clubhouse. The driving range seemed an afterthought, and they ran out of balls to practice with. The signage to the first tee was poor, but improved over the rest of the course, where the signs still exist. There is a surprisingly between holes, so for the less fit player it might be sensible to rent a buggy, as the course is hilly. The first hole requires a blind shot to the green, but I was not able to see a pole for direction. This is also the case on a few other holes. The tee boxes were still missing, fairways had been well looked after, in the main, but the bunkers were generally in a poor state, as they need a lot more sand, and those not marked GUR contained lots of small stones. All the greens had been scarified but the grass was bare or very thin in places. The course has public rights of way that traverse the course and is used by the public for dog walking or a stroll, as well as unsupervised children, who I witnessed playing on the 10th green. Overall, I felt that the course could be fun to play but be prepared for some long strolls between holes, hence the number of buggies available to rent, and a sensation of being surrounded by a massive industrial estate rather than a rural ambience. Overall, I couldn't recommend the course for the £27 green fee paid, particularly after playing Haste Hill GC the day after for £15, which was in better condition and better looked after.Reviewer Rating

Tees were in good nick and I could only fault 2 greens on the whole course. Excellent value for money when playing twilight. As im local i think i will be playing here more often. Beats other local courses hands down. Clubhouse isn't the greatest but friendly staff made up for it.
Definitely worth the £15 i payed.

It's pleasing to see that you are fighting to save this club and are prepared to put it into writing. However I do not understand the situation at the club. Who decided to build the range and to destroy the original layout? Were professional golf course designers involved or was it a committee of would be golfers after some tax payer’s money? I can understand why any club would want to build a range as this would generate membership but what a disaster!!! It not only cost a fortune, it damaged the GREAT original course design (whereby the 9th and 18th were beautiful feature holes) and has put people off playing there. Quite unbelievable.
I am also confused about your comment on the gravel. It’s in every bunker!!!! Without sounding rude; I take it you know the difference between gravel and sand? Unless they have completely replaced every bunker in the last few weeks.
With regard to the standard of playing there is no real rule with regard to dress code or conduct. I was playing the 18th, waiting to play my second shot when a group of 4 teed off hitting a ball right at us. When we turned to express our disbelief they shouted “if we wanted to hit you we could have” – Nice
The restaurant has not been open for some period of time to be fair although I agree with you that it out to be pulled down and re-built.
The staff are not rude just completely disinterested – Management issue!
Please feel free to describe your experience with the new 10th hole!!! Was that designed or a product of the new range? The 80 yard temporary hole was better!
On a positive note I would be happy to support you and your fellow members in making Stockley a better place as I am in the area and want good golf courses to play on. And it is definately worth a round for £10 but what sort of golfer is that going to attract

Sadly disappointing
I was looking forward to trying Stockley Park, but if this is described as a championship course, then my name is Tiger Woods. Fairways are not cut down, greens clearly not looked after by the locals with pitch marks everywhere, some of the tees broken and nowhere near the indicated distance on the scorecard. Not a bad course for those beginning to play regularly or just for fun with friends, but championship standard? Absolutely not.Reviewer Rating

Disappointing
Nice clubhouse, clean.Staff not especially welcoming.
No buggies/electric trollies available - some unspecified problem with "the electrics" (presumably failed to charge them).
First hole is a very poor one - feels like playing on a building site. Greens pitted with unrepaired pitch marks. Some tees in very poor condition. Green-keeper on ride-on mower didn't stop or move to one side as we approached the green, and kept on mowing the fringe even when we were on it! Carried on mowing one-handed and using mobile phone. Course had loads of litter on it. Long walking distances from clubhouse to first tee, and then again to get to second hole, and to the (?) sixth hole. All in all, very disappointing, and I doubt I'll go back. Had the feeling of a previously well-maintained facility which was now run by half-hearted council employees.
