hard course to play always a cross wind on first 9 holes a lot of holes you need to carry to greens or you just roll down hills or fall off greens as most are raised greens so hard to chip and run onto green first 9 are more exposed to the wind tight fairways to hit off the tee back 9 bit more tree lined still tight fairways I thought the greens were very slow and hairy really needed to rattle in your putts to have any chance I prefer fast greens now so not impressed with the slow hairy greens

opening 9 I believe has been new addition to original 9 holes. front 9 is up and down the hill but didn't feel tiring. some tricky bunkers but the course is quite open and will improve as the trees grow
back 9 is mature and interesting;
par 3 12th is sheltered, wind catches anything above tree line
par 4 13th doesn't feel like you have a shot to the fairway unless you hit high and long over tree (i drilled it through the gap)
par 5 14th dog leg left has a huge dip to gather 250+ drives
par 3 15th drops 80+ yards to the green, anything long is OB
par 4 16th is intimidating for a low driver like me, driving back across the 15th green and up over the hill to a rollercoaster fairway
par 4 17th is short but drastically narrows with railway line from left and tree line from the right, had an eagle putt after 3w hooked left onto the railway line and bounced back onto the back left of the green
par 4 18th is probably the narrowest fairway on the course with OB down the left, I'm sure a lot of players bail out right onto the 10th fairway, but they have a bunker front right of the green to catch everyone coming in from that angle

Superb Value for Money
Great wee course best to St Andrews - The home of golf. Although for a fraction of the price. Really friendly clubhouse and members.The course is in great condition and there are no winter mats or greens, which is a big draw.
The par 3 15th is a real stand out hole, down a large hill towards the village of St. Michaels and the railway line.
Definitely going to be playing again.
