We play here all the time. Fantastic little course. Not sure about some of the negative comments on here - yes it’s not PGA standard but for £10-£17 a round you can’t beat it. Greens are always in decent shape and the course is fairly forgiving. - and not much water to lose your ball in! Would definitely recommend for mid and high handicaps.

The fairways are very wide Sonos you mess up your tee shot I might still go on the fairway. Also the greens were in very good condition. It also would be better if you could pay by cash. The staff are also very nice.Round played July 2017 / handicap 3.9 / score 74

Really enjoyed the round, not too busy and a really open course. forgiving for a beginner and the greens played really true. Would highly recommend and will likely be playing here again in 2 weeks

cold wet day was brightened up playing this lovely well maintained course, warm welcome by staff , Only £15.00 per round well worth it when you consider other courses near by £35. plus .It was not busy and could tee off straight away after refreshments , Would like to see fairways tighter and 2 cuts for the semi rough just to enhance the course.

played 9 holes on a little course absolutely great for beginners and good players alike, lovely greens but as a low level player found the fairways were not too fair and grass left long stopping my ball dead in its tracks (must try to hit a bit longer ) R Atkinson

I think this is the best pay-and-play golf course in the area. The greens are immaculate and are like putting on carpet. The course has got better as it matures. The only downside in my opinion in the unnecessarily grumpy owner.

Good course
The price is right for this course. The girl in the shop is friendly and always make you welcome.The course its self is of a good standard and well looked after.
Friendly players who speak and let you play threw.
Clubhouse could be better, needs a pro shop.

Great municipal!
This is a really good value for money municipal course. Some nice challenging holes particularly on the back nine. Always in good condition.Only downside is that on last couple of visits have noticed a drop in etiquette standards. I.e. jeans and tracksuit bottoms being allowed on the course.

Really dont understand negative reviews on trip advisor? My brother and I were looking for a mutual meeting point for golf 4 years ago..After several phone calls and the usual visitor snobby response I contacted Spofforth. The immediate response from the elderly gentleman who has now sadly passed away was brilliant..just turn up and play son nay bother....0640 start..nay bother just pay halfway or when you finsh !!! Have been meeting there several times a year ever since...might not be in the top ten but the family course is well looked after and has improved dramatically recentlyI can honestly recommend this course if you want a nice friendly inexpensive game
We will continue to meet there and thank you to all the staff...ps prepare for the back 9 !!!!
