The greens were fantastic. However the fairways on a lot of the holes are quite honestly terrible. They have not recovered from 2018 hot summer. In need of serious work.

Poor Fairways - bit of a disappointment for £25!

It is a shame that the fairways at this course were in such shocking condition - effectively playing off dead grass and having to lift and place on the nearest bit of green where possible. The greens however are something else - they are in beautiful condition and some of the fastest and truest I have played in a long while. The tees are also in the main well kept and covered with good grass. They just need to get the bits in between tee and green sorted!
Bunkers are OK but heavy orange sand can be difficult to play a club through.
All in all it's an average to OK course but there are better courses nearby which don't cost £25 a round. The Oxford is not worth that level of green fee!

On the positive side, the greens and fairways were in very good condition on this dry yet windy spring day. Course is challenging although shots could be recovered in places. Sensible course management required but perhaps not for beginners. Mainly picturesque views along with the occasional council house and main road along several perimeters. Where the course could be improved: better signage of both yardage (there are markers 150 yarders but only if you're within a few feet of them) and where the next tees are for newcomers. Stroke saver cards recommended if and when they will ever be available. The Golf Shop is poorly equipped, with very little to offer, not even bottles of water or bars of chocolate for the round. Kitchen closed and nobody serving teas/coffees or breakfast until 11am - absurd. No hospitality to speak of really. This club needs to do a bit more to offer the visitor other than a fancy website. In no hurry to return any time soon
