Hidden gem

Not the easiest course to get to but wow...it is worth the drive!

I found this a great mixture of holes. Short par 3's, long par 3's, short par 5's and long par 4's. Every hole offered a different challenge and was in excellent condition for the time of year.

Friendly clubhouse staff and really good food at the end of the round. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed playing Southerness far more than some more heralded courses I have played. I will return!

One of my favourite courses and in great condition. Great welcome and the food and service in the clubhouse is excellent. Unf, we played in driving rain and high winds today which was disappointing.

Greens not in the best condition but the course was enjoyable as always. Great food and hospitality in the Clubhouse.

Another cracking day of weather and the course was in excellent condition. Playing very difficult with an easterly wind.

Played this course for the first time and was very impressed. Small but adequate clubhouse, pro shop, friendly staff, reasonable food and drink. The course itself in superb condition. True links course with plenty of hazards like pot bunkers and unforgiving rough. The trick here is to stay straight for sure, stray from the fairway and there is plenty of gorse and heather to snatch your ball. Most of the greens, which are immaculate, are quite small and difficult to hit as some of the par 4s are over 400yds therefore finding yourself using long irons for 2nd shots if not wind assisted. Only a par 69 course but the ss is around 72-74 says it all really, a tough track but still a very enjoyable and worthwhile experience. The views from the course are stunning as well. Will certainly be returning.

A true test of links golf. Lots of pot bunkers, running fairways and very fast greens. Polite and helpful staff.

Caught this course on a blustery day so proved very tricky but between the group of us some achieved respectable scores.

Gorse and heather catches anything off the fairway but there are some memorable holes, particularly the 12th which ends just before the water starts.

Course in excellent condition but clubhouse and facilities in a little need of a spruce up.
