I have been a member of this club for many years, in 2017 this course was described by many as one of the best 9 hole courses in the south. From late 2017 to the present time this course has quickly gone downhill, tees are worn out, greens are full of moss, fairways have little or no grass and bunkers are more like bomb craters all this caused by little or bad maintenance. this is a shame as it was a beautiful course in a perfect setting

Pretty, but not good.

Green and tee box conditions make impossible to give this course more than 3 stars, sadly.

It's a very picturesque location, but the quality of the fairways and greens are anything but. Felt like the layout is suited to people who hack their way around and enables you to keep your scores down if you just bunt it down the middle 140 yards with driver. If you're a bigger higher hitter, there's low hanging tree's in every direction. Courses rarely rewarded good shots due to the poor greens and fairways.

Any putt outside of 4ft was a guessing game in terms of roll, so hard very to go low. The length of the course makes it a 'tempting' layout. Lots of drivable par 4's and short par 5's if you're willing to cut corners. Some would argue this makes it well designed, but I don't think it's set up the way the designers intended. Most of the challenges come from poor maintenance, not design.

For £10 it's obviously a bargain, but you'll need to go along with a member to get in. It's a gated private course. The setting is worth that price alone, but expect a frustrating round of golf.

Bill

I am a member of this golf club and I believe it to be excellent value for money. A challenging course, a frustrating course but a course that is enjoyable to play with a friendly membership. I will not be leaving anytime soon.

Real test of golf, if you can play here you can play anywhere. The Legend John Jacobs designed the original course that has now been lengthened to include two or fives and tough par fours. People who will slate this course will be probably be used to playing in wide open fields with no challenges.

Fantastic value for money, great course.

This truly is a hidden Gem, only live 3 miles from this course and didn't know it was there.
The club is on a private estate in beautiful woodland settings. The members are probably one of the friendliest I have come accross. The 9 hole course is very challenging and when playing 18 holes the front and back tee! s offer different yardages and challenges. I played 18 holes with a member and was charged only £10 which was excellent value for money. I believe they offer a weekly and monthly membership at incredible value. The course will suit golfers of all ages and all abilites.

As a regular user of this course I can quote with confidence that the club is renowned for it's friendliness. The course is not big, but very challenging. The fairways are flattish with one or two that have gentle slopes. The greens are small but tricky. 3 new holes added 2014 which includes a par 5, and 2 par 4s which have given the course a lot more yardage,
Ideal for buggy / electric trolley users all year round as it is a well drained and will only close due to heavy snowfalls. New clubhouse added 2016 which is very comfortable and perfect for that hot or cold drink afterwards,
Due to the unique location of this club situated on a private estate with aprox 130 members, there is no need to book tee of times. Guest are welcome accompanied with a full member. You can play 18 holes of golf for £10.00 a round, which is great value for money. Anyone looking for a new club to join will not be disappointed with limited memberships available at £420.00 a year for 7 day memberships.
