Poor greens and tees

Phoned the Six hills and booked to play the following day. Turned up to find the greens had been hollow tined and sanded so not worth even trying to putt on them. With the holes less than three foot from the fringe. We were very surprised and disappointed that Six Hills didnt make us aware of the quality of the greens when we rang to book.

The course itself was well tended, but with some unusual holes, but not in a good way..

Many of the tee boxes are not flat so not great to play off.

Nice course not looked after

A nice course for a public pay and play but really not looked after. The tees, fairways and rough were all far too long with their respective grass lengths. The greens played ok and were in much better condition than the rest of the course. It was wet but in my opinion the course was unplayable and should have been closed. Not a lot of maintenance could be seen. They have spent some money on improving the clubhouse facilities and practice areas but other than that not a good visit. Needs a kitchen and staff to run it with some options of hot food although the cold rolls were very nice as was the coffee. Overall disappointed with the day.

Quick round (ish)

I didn't book here before playing, just turned up on a Thursday mid morning. The lady on the shop told me I could go off as soon as I was ready. The down side to playing alone is that a 4ball and 3ball, who were together

Disappointing

Played this course Easter Sunday and apart from a few other groups we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The greens were badly sanded which I can only presume is protection from the winter season. At £21 plus online booking fee I think it is a little pricey !!! Really don't understand numbers 4 ( 230 yard par 3 !!! ), ridiculous number 12 and the 13...
The nice lady working behind the bar was the only positive

Starting to struggle

I've been going to this course for years on and off. Used to be a standard twilight "go to" of a summer evening. Short, a few interesting holes and generally in decent condition. Haven't been for a year or two and went back last Sunday. Absolutely shocked to see the condition it's in. The greens are absolutely appalling and have obviously been subject to a disease unfortunately. No amount of sand sprinkling can fill in the gaping gaps in the grass, despite their efforts. I've seen municipal courses in better condition than this, sorry to say. The people that own it are friendly and nice as ever, but the course seems to be struggling to me, sadly.

A course that allows for errors to not impact your scores too harshly. A course that is good for golfers who are still improving.

played course several times - gets better as round progresses - well maintained - greens don't look very good but actually play better - bit too expensive compared to others in area.

11 of us played this course yesterday. At £9.50 it is decent value but they normally charge over £20 at weekends. Greens are much quicker than expected. Very disappointed that only our first group got a drink as bar was shut. And the trees still seem slow in developing the course.

not a spectacular course, but its a good introduction into golf for higher handicappers, the greens can be inconsistent and some of the holes are pretty mundane. slightly expensive for what it is. overall if you are starting out in the game its perfect for you but if you are a low handicapped seasoned golfer you may want to look elsewhere.
