Challenging long course

Great challenging 18 hole course. Longest course I’ve played, plenty of drinks and food a must.

Nice friendly golf club in a AONB just south of the Lake District. Very interesting and challenging golf course. Not the longest but requires precision. Greens in very good condition considering the recent hot weather. Stunning g scenery and local wildlife. Visited by the local deer as we tweed off on the 7th.

Interesting course worth playing. Although not a long course some very tight driving holes and some steep climbs. Professional very helpful and green fee value for money.

Never fails to please

Always enjoy playing Silverdale, warm welcome in clubhouse, good food. Course in great condition, greens firm and true. Love the quirky holes 12-18 where my driver stays well and truly in the bag. Will be returning again and again for sure.

I can agree with a lot of what has been said. Some lovely holes, great views and a well kept course, but..... I play off 20 and would regard this course as very difficult for several reasons, firstly the elevations mean you have to understand your club differences, the fairways slope meaning in some instances you have less than half a fairway to hit, there are several blind shots and one green in particular is perched on top of an outcrop which I don't believe I could ever hit in two, a little bit too mini golf for my liking. Finally unless you are in good condition I would recommend a buggy. There are huge elevations and green to tee can be a long uphill walk.

Silverdale is perfect for an away trip as the train station is right next to the golf course. This course really does suit the tactical golfer as there aren't many opportunities to get out the driver and many holes are treelined. An thoroughly enjoyable test perfect for societies and golfers looking for an easy away day.
