Outstanding course and value for money....first class food.... just a joy of a course, people, service....just played like an eejit :-(

society weekend trip
Played it on Friday as part of our society weekend away trip and what an absolute pleasurable experience it was. The course was fantastic especially as we caught it on a calm day. There were some cracking holes on it and it made it even trickier with the blind shots to some greens, it was handy we had buggies which afforded us the opportunity to have a quick look at what awaited us at the green, A big thank you must also go to all the staff who made us feel really welcome, with some cracking food as well try the poached eggs and haggis on toast delicious.(played 28-10-17 handicap 13 scored 32 stable ford points)

Lived up to 15 year-old wait to play
Having been highly recommended by a friend many years ago I finally made it to this fairly remote Links course tucked away behind the Lakeland hills. It lived up to its reputation. Tight fariways rolling through sweeping dunes thickly clad in hellish heather. 6 penalty drops/ tee shots proved accuracy off tee and club choice on approaches cirtical, but not always easy in strong wind blowing off the sea. An exhausting but exhilarating challenge. Will definitley not be waiting 15 years more to get back to try again.(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 15.6)

Took us 2 and half hours to get there, played in 30 mph winds and driving rain and still really enjoyed it. Course was excellent, pro made us feel so welcome and had a great meal afterwards. We will be going back, hopefully in better weather conditions!!

Excellent Overall Experience

Wonderful course but the fairways are in very poor condition. Greens were excellent as always.

Warm welcome and lovely views but having to play off yellow tees to firm fairways made this a pitch and putt at times. Pace of play very slow and we walked off when it seemed that we might test the 5 hour barrier. Course condition was very average, perhaps the low rainfall this year was to blame. Changing rooms tired, no towels or soap in smelly showers. Sorry to say this feels like it is living on past glories.

A tough test if it blows, Silloth is an old school links, not too long with good greens and undulating fairways. The club and members were very welcoming.

Can't recommend a visit highly enough. Truly friendly staff & a magnificent course. Every hole is different & great value for money for a day ticket.

Beautiful challenging course in top condition. Grrens firm and fast bu mostly flat. Visitors green fee expensive for area.
