The most friendly pro shop and members I have experienced.
We had a great day at Shipley GC. We paid £20 PP via tee off times. Sometimes we are made to feel like second class citizens in pro shops. Not here. We were welcomed and this was the stand out aspect of our experience. The members were equally welcoming both on and off the course. The course was beautiful. We did get a little lost in places when moving from greens to next tee. Absolutely loved the high proportion of par 5s and par 3s. Both me and my playing partner felt we could score well as a result. A must visit course
Hidden in a valley and surrounded by hills and trees. There are not many distant views from this course but when the course looks this good, you don't need any other view.The practice facilities are undergoing a revamp and when complete will be marked an excellent. A well kept course with an equally well kept clubhouse. The facilities are excellent and well worth a visit, even if you have to travel far. Newly refurbished clubhouse is very smart, all staff and members were friendly and welcoming. Course was excellent, fast and true greens, beautiful fairways and very scenic.

Played this course on a winter deal and despite the hard frost enjoyed the round.
The winter tees shortened the course somewhat (helped my score) and there were two temp greens in operation.
Beautiful course, tricky approaches to greens - seemed like every green was well guarded. Loved the abundance of par 5's and 3's as that contrasts nicely with the usual back-and-forth par 4 courses.
Only downside was the tendancy to hit driver on all holes bar par 3's. I tend to really enjoy courses that make you think from the tee and vary your 'drives'.

Shipley is one of the best hidden gems in West Yorkshire, a true test of player & course management. A tremendous parkland course that has 6 par 3's & 5 par 5's it challenges & delights equally. The McKenzie designed course has very fast greens & magnificantly kept fairways throughout the year. The signature par 3 7th is simply stunning, probably the best par 3 in the area. Although a bit pricey for some it really is worth playing if ever near the Bingley area. Clubhouse & proshop are both very friendly, I cannot recomend enough.

Great course worth playing
Few years since I last played Shipley for the first time, said I would return some time, well today I did just that. Great breakfast to start with, friendly welcome in all areas. Decent practice facilities, well stocked pro shop. Course in great condition although found greens a little slow but true. Course well laid out with no one hole the same, some tricky par 3s. Easy walk around with only gentle inclines about. Would certainly return for a 3rd time.Reviewer Rating
