Challenging parkland course
I've been playing at Shipley GC for 4 months now, the course is always well prepared and the membership very welcoming. The course is fairly flat and easy to walk but is very challenging and unusual in that it has 6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5s.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 96 Handicap: 25.8)

Best in the area
A great golf course, open fairways with the odd testing hazards

Historical
Fantastic opportunity to play this historical course and lived up to expectations. Wonderfully kept fairways and greens and full of surprises. Very friendly. Would definitely recommend.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 100 Handicap: 22.8)

Lovely course
Played here with our society on a Sunday morning. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were quick. They were receptive if you hit the ball in to them. Bunkers were well filled with sand and overall the place was in really good condition. A lot of par 3's & 5's which is interesting. Some of the 5's are reachable in 2 giving excellent birdie opportunities. We'll certainly be returning again next summer. Friendly staff and a lovely club.

The most friendly pro shop and members I have experienced.
We had a great day at Shipley GC. We paid £20 PP via tee off times. Sometimes we are made to feel like second class citizens in pro shops. Not here. We were welcomed and this was the stand out aspect of our experience. The members were equally welcoming both on and off the course. The course was beautiful. We did get a little lost in places when moving from greens to next tee. Absolutely loved the high proportion of par 5s and par 3s. Both me and my playing partner felt we could score well as a result. Brilliant day.

A must visit course
Hidden in a valley and surrounded by hills and trees. There are not many distant views from this course but when the course looks this good, you don't need any other view. The practice facilities are undergoing a revamp and when complete will be marked an excellent. A well kept course with an equally well kept clubhouse. The facilities are excellent and well worth a visit, even if you have to travel far. You won't be disappointed.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 82 Handicap: 12.4)

I think from my recollection of the club's website that this is an Alistair McKenzie design, and it is stunning. A beautiful parkland course, with a real mixture of par 3, 4 and 5's. It gets quite tight towards the end, and apologies to the club captain and his party for my errant tee shot on the 17th, which went across their green (very embarrassing). The par 3 7th is a beautiful hole, but wicked if you go left (I did!). The members were fantastically friendly, the course is visually stunning, and I'm so glad I took the time to play a round here. If you're in the area, put this course on your list, you won't regret it, I promise.
