Excellent course

Unusual course in that it starts with a series of short holes (I would say easy, but they're not always). It's a gentle start, but be patient because from the fifth onwards it gets much tougher.
It's a very pretty course and it's in fantastic condition. The greens are undulating and quick, but true. Quiet hilly in parts but very walkable.
The welcome we got was fantastic. The staff in the clubhouse / golf reception were superb.
Same can be said for the staff in the hotel, if you're lucky enough to be staying and the food was top quality.

Relaxed atmosphere

The course starts with a Par 3 which is always great. The second half of the course goes left to right and is harder. The course was in good condition for early February. Would play again.

Short course in great condition

Short course particularly the front nine but in great condition. A couple of narrow fairways and greens than ran true but had some interesting cambers. Fast round until last three holes where we were stuck behind a putting out 4 ball in some kind of members competition that definitely added 25 minutes to the round. The course layout is tight in places and heard and felt a non-called drive pass my head. Probably play again as a confidence booster. Sat in bar for 10 minutes without being served, even though two bar staff more interested in sorting out optics at 12.30 than serving customers, so left.

Amazing Golf Club and staff

The golf club and the staff were truly amazing in our stay here overnight, we played both days with a room overnight and I must say the hotel staff were by no means helpful with Buffet breakfast and our night meal which we waited one hour and a half for our starters!! The golf club was almost the complete opposite welcomes with smiles and politeness, a true credit to the company but will not be staying in the hotel any time soon!!

This course has some newer and easier holes at the beginning, and you really need to score well here as you are likely to find the back 9 considerably more difficult.

There is quite a variety of holes from short to long and the par 3s are by no means easy, even the very short one.

The greens have quite a lot of slopes on them and seem pretty good, (even though they had been hollow tined a week before) and rolled truly. I would imagine that in the summer they would be devillish as they are purportedly much quicker than when we played.

The only negative is the lack of facilities in the clubhouse which lacks a proper bar and no pro shop.

The people on and around the course all seemed pretty friendly and it is certainly a course I would want to play again, though I think a few holes would be played differently with some course knowledge.

Pleasant mature, tight course with varying holes. Not very long but you have to be accurate.

My home course - very forgiving! I think anyone other than a high handicapper will find the course too easy.
I still love it though

Front nine nice and straight forward but doesn't prepare you for the numerous tricky holes on the back nine. The greens where quick and tricky to read. Combined with the tight tee shots and the wind through the valley concentration is required at all times.
