Played Old course twice in December. Course was in excellent condition, with only one winter green. Some excellent holes (Doctor, Lagoon and Snag were my favourites). A great course to play and really good value for money for a links course of this standard.

This is what links golf is all about. Having played it twice, the first when it was a lovely still summer evening the second on a colder, breezy summer evening it really highlights how much the elements can alter the way a course plays.

The greens and the course layout is first class, but a very stiff challenge to all abilities.
REmarkably good value for mney if you can get there on a Monday and take advantage of the accepted 2-Fore!-1 vouchers.

Links golf isn't my favourite, by any stretch of the imagination - I'm not good enough yet to get round that successfully..... but I know that this is the way the way the golfing gods wanted the game to be played - from that point of view alone it is well worth a trip round.

Used concession card very cheap.Course well maintained typical links. The three flag systemn is a good idea if explained (different colour for front centre and back) but causes some confusion for visitors on where to play next.

Superb course

Played this course on a very windy day in October. Although there was some major work being done on the course impacting a few holes, it was still a great experience to play a quality golf course. The fairways were running well and the greens were magnificent. It is easy to see why the course is hosting the English Mens Amateur Championships in 2024.

Great course that will get better

Played Seaton Carew for the first time and was very impressed. Tough challenge but the fairways and greens were superb. I played with a member and they informed me of some of the course improvements they have planned and it’s good now but I think will become great in the future. Only criticism I would have is the course layout which which felt a bit random at times, hence I was glad I was playing with a member

Used to be great, now superb..

Just back from trip to NE playing Goswick, Bamburgh, & S Carew. Used to play here a bit when I worked in the area & it was always a great course, however with the recent changes it's now stunning. Couple of members of the group said they rated it up there with the likes of Silloth. Great clubhouse / food, and great hospitality from the pro who accommodated us for another 9 holes as we delayed our journey back down south as we enjoyed it so much! Definitely recommended.

Great visit, iffy weather

Course was great and a challenge in the conditions as it was very windy and chucking it down in patches. However there were no bad holes on the Micklem course, varying holes with some tight fairways and sma green and other holes with much larger undulating greens. Despite the weather, really enjoyed the course and the test it provided.

Finally the main reason for the review, the pro and his assistant (Martyn and Andy I believe) absolutely first class, best welcome from a pro I think I've ever had, great customer service. Honest, open and friendly, it does make a difference. Especially as we were at Slayley the day before and the customer service there was shocking. Great work Martyn and Andy!

Top quality

Consistent quality across the whole course every aspect was top quality. Some others had better greens etc but the whole experience there was excellent.
