Hotel, food and facilities were great and pro shop very accommodating. Courses are good, although it’s probably not £40 good. Lots of straight holes (a few too many for me), but hazards, elevation changes and greens make it interesting. I’d say it’s a nice day out for a mid-handicapper if you can get a deal to play all 27.
Course was in good condition overall, however some bunkers, especially on the Lakes course could do with fresh sand.
Parks I quite enjoyed, although it is the easiest of the rounds, it seems to have a nice flow and I found its holes to be the most varied.
Woods is definitely the hardest of the 9s, the woods narrow the fairways and it seems to play longer (although not overly long in the summer), probably due to the elevation changes.
Lakes were probably the biggest disappointment, very straight, and there is only one, maybe 2 holes where the water comes into play. Still Ok but I didn’t like it as much as the other two.
Course marshal wasn’t as diplomatic as he could have been, a couple of my 16 handicappers didn’t really appreciate being told they ‘were pretty rubbish’ after making a couple of bad shots to start the round! Wasn’t really an issue though, everyone else seemed very welcoming!
Would recommend.

Since I left the club (15 years ago) it has had quite a make over. The club house and facilities are now very good and feel high spec. There is also a hotel on site now which I'm told is a very good quality 3 star.
Overall, I left feeling that everything had been improved for the better. I would definitely come back and would recommend others also give it a go.

Good challenge for all golfers
Six of us old guys had a three day golf break to Sanford Springs golf club, the club has three nine hole courses, these were in very good condition and a good challenge for all golfers. The hotel rooms were very clean and had everything you needed, the staff were very good and looked after us, the food was of a high standard. We Will be going back.Reviewer Rating

Gem of a course
The Lakes / Woods split is a tight and fun 18 holes to play. Well worth combining the two.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 79 Handicap: 8.4)

Tee to green were in perfect conditions, even with the recent rain, and was great to get onto a course with proper and a decent amount of sand.
All in all a great day and well worth a visit.

The bits that I notice being an ex-member is around the club house and new hotel. I didn't have a look inside the new hotel but it looked good from the outside and I've heard good things about the fit and finish. The Club House, I did go in and the bar is now up stairs looking out from an excellent vantage point over a large area of the course, also the changing rooms are nicely done. The pro-shop is not medium sized but normally well stocked. The only things that let this club down overall are the food which isn't as good as the surroundings and that it can be a bit pricey.
Overall, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to play a good course and would love to take my friends back there with my more normal society golf.

Pleasantly surprised
After reading Adam's review a week was a little worried. No need all 3 9s were in pretty good shape. You could see the parks greens had some done and a week makes quite a bit of difference so I sympathise with him on that. There was a wedding on but we had top bar/restaurant all to ourselves. Room's and bathrooms a good size and 3 course dinner and breakfast all tasty. If it was really busy could see service being an issue as only 1 member of staff for food, drinks and clearing up.Reviewer Rating
