Fairways, Greens and rough in need of a cut. This made scoring conditions quite difficult. It is still a good open course offering a good challenge,

Excellent Value
Summary: Friendly staff, Long parkland course, a bit scruffy here and there, but overall worth the money.We were welcomed with Bacon sandwiches, and coffees with good prompt service. The pro shop were relaxed and friendly. Good start.
We teed up not expecting much, as some reviews have indicated poor greens and tee boxes etc. We were pleasantly surprised with the condition and beauty of the course, and were very happy with the price.
Don’t get me wrong, the greens and tee boxes could have done with a bit of TLC, but absolutely playable for the average handicap golfer, for this price.
The length of the course was very demanding, but open enough to spray some drives and not be penalised too harshly. I imagine if they grow the rough up and add wind it would be brutal.
The one thing I did notice was the worm holes on the tees and surrounding areas, and the animal damage. It indicates a lack of pesticide investment, which some would argue is a good thing, I sit on the fence on that one, it just looks a bit scruffy!
We had a great day, I am an 8 handicap, and it was good enough for me, I don’t see how anyone can really complain for the price.

I really enjoyed this course, it was in fantastic condition.Most of the holes are tree lined, so you have to be accurate .
Equally accuracy to the greens is important, as they are quite small in places & a lot of them have drop offs to the back & sides.
The back 9 is better than the front 9, particularly 13 to 16
10/10 to Ian the greenkeeper, who looked after me as I had arrived before the pro shop was open. He couldn't have been more helpful.
I found it a really fair test of golf & would recommend it to beginners & more advanced golfers.

Course was in good condition with recent rain freshening up the grass. Rough long and wispy but playable as hot conditions burnt out the thickness.

The course is in great shape, a lot of work has been done on it over the past few years, the best value course in the area.

Great course, couldn't be in better condition certainly for this time of year. Every hole demands your full concentration on each shot. A lapse of focus will be punished as I found to my cost on seemingly straightforward approaches. Well placed bunkers and other hazards provided a good test of golf for low to mid handicappers.

A credit to the green keeping staff as this is a fantastic course all year round, the greens are superb. With very good facilities this course is well worth a visit if you are in the area,

I played Rye Hill today for the first time and was very impressed indeed.
It is situated in a very peaceful picturesque part of Oxfordshire but still very easy to get to.
The golf course was in excellent condition,the fairways are very lush with very good drainage( my trousers were very clean afterwards) probably best the fairways I've played this year! The greens are also very very good,big and undulating so some thought had to be put in before putting.
Overall I found Rye Hill to be a very good test for all golfers and a very enjoyable round was had.
Great value as well £17.50 including a sleeve of balls and a pint afterwards.
I look forward to playing it again soon!

the course is an excellent challenge, the breeze always adds variation to how the course plays. i have been playing there for nearly two years now and its an ever improving venue. the new owners are doing really good things. the shop staff are also first class, always helpful. they are now making some very good improvements to an already good track. for mid to low handi's, i strongly advise you give it a go!

I found this a very challenging course. The views from the sixth fairway are fantastic and the view in the valley of the 14th is better than any i have ever seen. I have since made this my regular playing venue

In the summer this picturesque parkland / heathland course is fantastic. It is not a dificult course but is designed to maintain your interest. Hard dry fairways give tight lies and flatter a good drive. Greens are in good condition considering the lack of rain. Have not played this course in winter when I expect its a very different story as it is well above sea level and very exposed. Club house and pro shop looks quite new and people are very welcoming. Changing rooms are a little small and tired looking so societies of any great size may struggle. I paid £18 for a round of golf here which is amazing value for a fantastic course.
