Course superb..Pace of play awful!
This is the best course I have played this year and I play every week around the east midlands. The layout, design the upkeep was nothing short of excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed playing here. The one issue I did have which really did ruin the day slightly was the seriously poor pace of play. There was a 3 ball in front that could not have played any slower. I think the tee times may be bunched too close together as the course was very busy and pace was terrible. On the long par 5 on the back nine I counted 3 groups playing the hole, 2 waiting to tee off on it and two groups including me and my friend waiting to tee off on the hole after. I understand that golf isn't meant to be rushed, but having to wait 5-10 minutes for almost every shot is not good...this needs rectifying to make this course one of the best in the region.Reviewer Rating

Cracking track
I was halfway there when I realised my trolley, battery and shoes were in the car with me but I'd forgotten to put the clubs in. Rang the course and explained my senior moment and that I wouldn't be able to make our booked tee-time after returning home for my bag. They were very understanding and said not to worry as they'd squeeze us in somewhere. (Even though today was a lovely late summer's day and they were booked solid). When I finally arrived 15 minutes after our booked time (and to a round of applause from the rest of my four ball) they got us on the first tee within 15 minutes. So well done there Rufford.I can hardly pan the course after there sterling efforts but fortunately I don't need to. It's been a good few years since we last played Rufford and I think we'd all forgotten what a thoroughly enjoyable track it is. It was in great nick and there are some really interesting holes too. It's not too long, at 6036 yards off the yellows, with just one par 5, a 584yd slog, and a couple of very interesting holes among it's four par 3s (the 7th 150yds all carry across a valley and the infamous 17th from a hugely elevated tee 160yds to the green way below with a lake washing the from apron). A tip from me for the 17th is to hit your 140 yard club if the winds not doing much (I hit a 7 iron and finished on the banking at the back of the green, from where I chipped in for a surprise birdie).
To summarise, it's a great track, in good nick, with interesting holes, good staff and, at £24 on weekdays, good value too. Well worth a visit or three!

Beautiful Course, great value
What a fabulous golf course. Stunning setting and surroundings. A challenge for the low handicap and playable at the same time for the lesser ability player. Can't think of a hole I didn't like. High up on my list and can't wait to go again. The staff are top notch ...making everyone feel very welcome. Well done Rufford Park ..and thanks for a great visit.Reviewer Rating

Not a winter course
One of the best courses in Nottinghamshire in good weather, usually in good condition with some interesting and varied holes and decent food and drink at reasonable prices. However they’re very quick to close the course in bad weather and have temp greens at the first sign of frost, so I’d strongly recommend checking with them before travelling in poor weather. On our most recent visit 8 of us traveled from up to an hour away only to find the course was closed as it was ‘waterlogged’. A phone call or text to let us know would have been nice. We checked and no other course in the area was closed and we managed to get the times later in the day at an alternative course nearby.Reviewer Rating

Nice course
Considering we had never played here before I think we all played quite well, it’s a bit up and down but greens are very good and the course has great character.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 14.9)

Jewel in the crown
Wow, the views were beautiful and the course was immaculate. Each hole had an interest and challenge. The 17th par 3 left no room for error being well protected by water. The pace of the greens were quick and needed a good read to get close. Loved it even though I found water at the 17th being about a metre short to make land and the green.Reviewer Rating
