Stunning and Unique Course

A very traditional club that offers some really unique features like having to cross part of the beach to reach the actual course. Many of the holes feature deep sleepered bunkers and a couple of the greeens are raised to to protect the course when the neighbouring marshland is flooded at high tide. Some of the views across the dunes are simply stunning!

Traditional Links

Cracking layout. The old fashioned in and out style of links is great fun, especially if the tide is in.
The course is quite forgiving from the tee if you are on the right lines, but around the greens and bunkers is where it will catch you out.

Condition is fantastic. As expected.

Classic links

Classic out and back links, where the back 9 probably plays longer than the front despite being 400 yards shorter!

Tremendous course in a unique setting. One of those must play courses especially when there is a high tide in.

Oh my word, this is Old School golf and it's the better for it. The links was in magnificent condition (played May 2nd) and was hard but fair. Your punishment for missing the excellent fairways was a tougher following shot, but balls were always findable (I sent a couple out of bounds but that's not the course's fault). Greens were fast and true, bunkers all we hoped (and feared). Will play again (one day) even at the eye-watering green fees. Ohm watch out for the 8th, it's a beast.

A truely wonderful course and deserves to be played mid week when no one is around. It truely is a great test of golf made harder by the weather, if it blows you wont stand up (i promise you) let alone swing a club. You will play great links golf from tee to island fairway to Island greens. Its a straight 9 holes out and 9 holes back in. When you are out at the far end of the course pause, and just look at the scenary, and you wont worry that you have lost 3 balls and scored 50. However be where of the time and the tides or you will be like King Cannutt. Its a tidal course and sometime sin the winter the tides are high, and the course can cut off from the main land as the road and the course/fairways flood from seawater.
I myself wanted to be cut off to avoid the wife, and ended up sleeping in the old very old club house, its how golf was and thank god still is.
I know its in the top 50 courses in GB, and should be higher. A must for anyone wanting to relax and see the old golfing world go by. Some of the best double fairways and greens i have played on in true links style, and only suffers from the weather. Play it now before Tidal errosion takes away the 1st and 18th holes.
