When talking about Royal Liverpool, it is easy to run out of superlatives as the place is just that good. As you walk the tightly mowed fairways you really do get a feel of the history of the place and its past Open Championships. The greens were spot on and the pot bunkers were everything I imagined before arriving here. Every single member of staff was extremely helpful and I would not hesitate to go back.

Played as member's guest so fantastic value for money. Very challenging, as when missing narrow fairways straight into thick rough. Happily only visited two of the impressive bunkers.

Greens were very fast and tricky to read. Not one of my favourite courses and tighter than you think. Hole 10 and 12 are unfair due to the camber on the fairways. The last five holes are just up and down and uninteresting. It's a tough test but not in the top league in my opinion.

Beautiful course and got really lucky with the weather. Greens had been worked on but were still very true and fair. Clubhouse is full of history. I feel very lucky to have had the privilege to play there.

Played this as a birthday present from my fiancee. Clubouse is two floors. Downstairs very standard bar area with the hallway having some good memorabilia. Upstairs was lovely. Very old world with a lovely big bay window looking across the course.
Couldn't have asked for better playing conditions in Feb. Sunny, no wind and very quiet course. The course was in excellent condition. The greeens were fair at best at putted very slowly. I know it is February but I would expect more at a course such as this. What struck me most was how flat the course was, like one giant field, though in immaculate condition other than the greens. Some nice holes but nothing spectacular. The tees were very far forward as well which I felt took something away from the challenge.
Having played a lot of golf at Wallasey down the road (albeit mostly in summer) I would honestly say I find that more interesting and prettier.
