A must for any golfer and Open fan

You get a real sense of history as you drive into the club , the staff are so friendly. We got a bag tag as part of our green fee (nice touch). The course was dry after the heat wave in the UK and little wind which was great for average golfers like us. The course is so well laid out. The greens were true. Of course stay out of the bunkers and heavy long rough. Bring plenty of balls cause you will lose some but Birkdale is a fair course , if you hit the fairway you have a chance at a birdie and par , hit a bunker or rough and you won`t .. Was a wonderful experience playing such great courses in the area.

Brilliant golf course. Still in lovely condition despite it being November. Greens in excellent conditions .

absolute quality

I played here in the junior open 2 weeks after the open and most of the stands were still up which was amazing and the course was still in great condition, great day!

Outstanding and a pleasure to play- even though too many visits to the many well placed bunkers meant it wasn't the game I wanted to play but hopefully , on my return, I'll have a much better idea how to play.
Feeling blessed to play where many legends of the game have walked.

Course is fabulous to play. Condition is very good, there are no weak areas. Some holes are a challenge but they are all fair. If you get the chance play this course.

Amzing course, Brian the pro is a tru gentleman and the staff are always wonderful. Course was in excellent condition but rough was brutal due to the rain.

A true test of golf and deserves to be an Open venue. Absolutely great track and very tough. Greens were excellent and a fantastic Clubhouse with lots of memorabilia.
