Played here couple times this season will definitely play again course in great condition greens are top notch. Clubhouse and locker room excellent recently been done up there is also golf simulator been added to club house course is definitely worth visit

Having been a member since 2002 with a slight break ‘2014-18’ Routenburn is probably in the best condition I have ever seen it. Fantastic value for money. Also the clubhouse has had some renovation work done including new high standard toilets and changing facilities and is a work in progress. Recently a golf simulator has been added in the back room, great for practise on a rainy day or a laugh with friends.Reviewer Rating

Great golf course to visit

Ive played 103 courses last year and this was my 30th this year and have to say my favourite course that Ive played. The scenery over the firth of clyde to the islands just breathtaking , the golf course great fun to play with terrific variations of holes -really felt like a privelege to play it. Joined a member at the second (Archie) who was tremendous company especially helping me with the odd blind shot. Although just the portakabin for booking, the welcome was extremely friendly - cant say more than great course, great scenery and great fun to play.

This course is on the side of a hill with pituresque views of the clyde and largs on a sunny day you can see for miles. back to the course, excellent challenging par 3 to start with really have to hold your nerve to hit the green from there on all the holes are challenging with varrieing difficulty the course will challange all your golfing needs appart from your bunker play they are virtualy non existant but i still would say to anyone play it you will enjoy it if not the golf deffenetly the views

Fantastic views
In lovely condition, and not too busy. The course offers a decent challenge with some quite challenging holes. Whilst walking round there are some fantastic views, overlooking Largs, the local area and the sea. The members and pro are all welcoming and friendly.Reviewer Rating

Superb Course Club House Dismal

I was a golf professional for 23 years and now have returned to an amateur. I play Routenburn regularly and all I can say is it is a cracking test of golf, with all various golf shots required. I love the course and would urge people to play this course.

The course is excellent, provides a good challenge and the views across the Clyde to the islands are wonderful. The clubhouse facilities however are non existent apart from the toilets. As long as you are aware of this Routenburn should be on every golfers must play list.

the course is wonderful with fantastic views out over the Clyde and islands, on a good day you can see as far as the Cobbler in the Arrochar Alps. Regretably the club house leaves much to be desired. Overall the playing experience is excellent despite the course being a bit hilly..

Course in excellent condition views breath taking. A challenging course with many twists and turns and not a few blind tees. Unfortunately the club house is in a state of disrepair and only provides toilet facilities. Despite this a great course and highly recommended.

excellent course in very good condition views over the islands spectacular. Course has it's fair share of hills. Regrettably the club house is closed for food etc. other than at the weekends.

This is the better of the two courses in Largs. A municipal course with a straight out and back layout. The course is in excellent condition with a real variety of holes, and terrific views over the Firth of Clyde.
It makes for excellent value for money, however the Clubhouse leaves a great deal to be desired. It is very seldom open, and the toilets and changing rooms could only be described as shameful, and should be avoided.
Notwithstanding the condition of the toilets, it's well worth playing a round at Routenburn. It was good enough for Sam Torrance who learned his trade here.
