What the club says: Steeped in history, immaculately kept and with dramatic views over Rickmansworth and Moor Park Mansion, Tricky Ricky as it is known by golfers for good reason, is an 18 hole Par 65 course which tests golfers from the first tee to last green.

Originally part of the Moor Park Estate, the course was designed by famous architect Harry Shapland Colt.

Getting Trickier

Tricky Ricky continues to challenge the short game & while accuracy is essential so is reading the greens which vary in pace & break. Still plenty of signs of a heavy winter away from the fairways & there’s not that much roll or bounce on them. Roll on Summer

Nightmare Pin positions

Pin positioning could have been kinder. Putting & going off the green not great. The player to blame. Rain & dew made the fairways slower but no excuses.

Nice Course on a beautiful day. Challenging holes encountered so far. Very well laid out and paid £20 for a round. Played with Raj, Kirit and Kirit (Ph).

Tricky as ever

Summer providing plenty of roll along the cambers. Greens should be quick now too BUT grass too long & therefore slow & hard to gauge how much biff required.

In Good Condition

Played at twilight rates from 4pm. Following 3 weeks of persistent rain, the course was in good condition and had drained very well.
Understandably the fairway grass was a little long.
Greens okay. Players need to remember to repair pitch marks and divots !!

Yes its Tricky!

No heirs & graces. Everyone friendly in this utilitarian environment. A short course? Underestimate at your peril. 2 of the par 3s I couldn't reach with the driver all be it in mid winter. Course was in fairly reasonable condition. Looking forward to getting back.

Decent

Haven't played here for a number of years, it was decent and greens ran nice. Only gripe where the tee boxes and bunkers need some work.

Tricky Ricky as it's locally known, is a shortish course over a hilly terrain. It's not a place to bomb drives, as only a handful of holes will reap you a benefit. Strategic placement of shots, to blind holes and cambered fairways will return better rewards. Four of the par 3's are uphill, those alone will test your ability with club selection to cover the yardage. The scorecard may not look daunting, but not giving this course enough respect will only deliver one winner.

Certainly a challenge

Don’t underestimate this course or it will wreck your card - relatively short but demanding accurate play and very subtle short game around greens that are fast with many hidden borrows.

I have played this course on and off for many years. It has always been in good condition. On this occasion this was the worst I've ever seen it. Tee?s, Greens, Bunkers all in poor condition. Has really put me off returning
