Reagents park GC Bolton
Just played 18 holes, disgrace!Course condition is a disgrace. Bunkers with weeds and rubble in them, other bunkers had minimum of sand in them which was very compact. Greens very bumpy, holes dotted about them and very patchy.
Bottom part of course is a quagmire, lots of surface water and a General mudbath made even worse by people driving buggies up and down fairways even though notices say keep off. Pace of play is ridiculously slow at times as well . Overall a bad experience, keep away, you've been warned!

Wrecked a once decent course
There cannot be many worse front 9 holes in the country the new lay out as wrecked this once decent course . The course was barely maintained when we played in July, weeds growing from bunkers that haven't seen sand in a long time. Fairways with grass cuttings left and nakin to being constantly in light rough . The greens in July had all been spiked usually only see this on winter times building rubble left on course that interferedwith play . All of us who grew up playing this course were shocked how bad it now is. Won't be going back anytime soonReviewer Rating

Unbelievable turn around for this Golf course
So i was a member at regent park last year and to be quite honest the course wasn't in the best shape so i left to join a different course, yesterday my course was closed so i headed down to regent park again to try it out as i have heard that there has been some mega improvements, what i heard was not wrong i was very surprised to see that the course was in amazing condition (also yesterday it was raining all day) you can tell a lot of hard work has been put into the condition of the course and i take my golf cap off to all the very friendly staff and groundkeepers! I would highly recommend to give regent park another shot and not to take on the reviews which were put on last year as the turn around is unbelievable from then! I will definitely be coming back to play again,In regards to pricing, to play the full 18 it is only £12 on a weekday, (not sure how much weekend prices are right now but im sure this will be displayed on their website) which is a bargain for what you get considering how much it is to play at other courses these days, the range has also very reasonable pricing and is great to smash a few balls before heading out to the course,
It also has foot golf which is a great alternative to the people who may not be able to swing a golf club as well as they can kick a ball so regent park really has it all
Overall i recommend any beginner, intermediate, highly skilled golfer to try regent park as it fits for every type of golfer and to not read the reviews from last year as it is a completely different course from what it was then

Rubbish condition
I have to say that this course now has to be the worst municipal golf course in the North west, weeds growing in every bunker, the sand for the bunkers is in the car park instead of being in the bunker. On the 1st hole you are welcomed with pot holes on the first green. The front 9 holes I am surprised I did I not see ducks swimming on the fairways, the drainage on the bottom front holes is shocking, I wouldn’t mind but the 3,4,5 holes have been remodelled so you’d have thought they would have invested in effective drainage. After being a member going back 10 years ago and returning to golf 4mths ago, I decided to go and play the course, I will never play there again. I will say that the staff that work in the shop/range are very friendly.Reviewer Rating

Miserable start
There had been incessant rain the day before and a 8 am start was at hole 10 - the back nine was playable. Then on the front nine we played 1 & 2 and the 7, 8 & 9. The rest of the course was flooded and the holes were unplayable. There was the option to make 18 holes. A miserable start to the round but we finished in sunshineReviewer Rating

Not suitable for cattle to graze on
I don't understand how after 8 weeks of no footfall the course can be worse than its ever been. The front 9 has been around a few years now but still looks like it's just been done. The back 9, which has been around forever is slightly better but still needs some TLC. Major investment required here, because charging ?15 for that is an absolute disgrace. Awful fairways. Maintenance half done and you may as well call the greens GUR.Reviewer Rating

Robin Day has ruined another municipal course
After he similarly ruined Bolton Open, it is tragically sad to see that Robin Day has now been allowed to also leave his hallmarks all over the 're-worked' (but certainly not 'improved') Regents Park. Awful drainage throughout, many bunkers a total disgrace, tees with more clover on them than grass, a driving range where the nets are falling down endangering golfers walking down the first fairway, no clear signage, new holes that are worse than what they replaced. What used to be a very pleasant municipal golf facility has been truly ruined. Just awful. I won't be returning. My advice is to avoid this place if at all possible.Reviewer Rating

I think the owners need to put a lot of effort to get this place back. £18 in summer when Hart Common is £14 and is a miles better course.
The numbers of members leaving the club over the last few months tells you all is not well at this place

This is the second year running that we have been made promises by the club that just fail to be delivered. The new holes that are being built were supposed to have been opened last year, but they are still not open yet. We were promised that they would definitely be open this weekend but surprise, surprise when we got there they are now due to open on the 12th July. I had a look at them as we went past, and if they are open next week they will be unplayable. Most of the new greens are already burnt brown due to a lack of watering, GUR everywhere you looked, uncut fairways and no sign of anything being done to get them ready.
The rest of the course continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate. The vast majority of the bunkers on the course are marked as GUR and have been for a long time. They are not Under Repair.
Wew spoke to a number of members are they are as frustrated as we were. The shop takes bookings irrespective as to whether there are club competitions going on or not. With 4 holes out of play and 4 holes being used twice, all of this just adds up to a recipe for disaster.
My advice - don't play here there are plenty of other courses to paly at that don't have all of these issues.

Improving Course
I was slightly critical in my review of June last year, but the course has definitely improved.I highlighted scruffy tee beds & slow greens. This year the tee beds were much better & although recently hollow tined, the greens were a lot better.
There's no questioning the layout, it's a lovely track.
I do stand by my comments of last time that a couple of the par 5's should be par 4's.
