A brilliant little heathland gem that played very well during our recent Winter Monsoon season. Very friendly atmosphere at this G C. A shame that the whole experience was marred by pushy, unfriendly dog owners who are completely unapologetic when their badly managed pets run off with your golf ball and who seem oblivious to any inconvenience caused. Once past these early hole hazards, life improves on this course. Will definitely play here again in better weather, and will be packing an electric cattle prod for use on ill mannered pet owners.

Plays longer than it appears.lots of dog walkers about and crossing the road twice can be a little nerve racking.Greens are in excellent condition and the fairways a little soft in places but still a fair amount of grass on them.At twenty pounds a round on a weekend it was good value for money.Accuracy is the key on this tree lined course,so it is worth playing to keep you focused on each shot. Also got to mention members very helpful and friendly and breakfast was good too.

The plus points were the greens, which were generally in excellent condition, not counting one or two which seem to have been attacked by some sort of burrowing animal. There was also a very friendly welcome from the lady in the shop.

The course itself though seemed to have a few too many trick holes, like a par 3 where you can only see half of the green due to the trees blocking the view, or the next hole where there is a line of bushes in front (behind?) a ditch in the middle of the fairway.

I only encountered one woman walking her dog down the centre of the fairway, but I can see how that might start to annoy after a while.

Not a bad course and it was in good condition, but not one I would travel too far to play.

Very busy with public walkers who seem oblivious to the threat a golf ball could pose to them. The course's layout is shocking with no interesting holes or challenges. The only plus side would be the above average greens.
I gave up at 8 holes and cut to the adjacent 14th, it was getting that tedious. Wouldn't reccomend, many better options in the close vicinity.

Nice course for a beginner with forgiving fairways. Far to many people walking dogs, children playing, especially on the first few holes. 6 holes criss cross each other which is a nuisance. Good value though currently £12 in the afternoon mid-week.

Very fair price but left expecting more. Found the fairways poor and the lack of yardage markers made judging distances very hard. Greens were pretty good.

Agree with the last review - public walking across the course are a nuisance! That said after the first 4/5 holes it is a pretty little course albeit not particularly chalenging.

Played for the first time today. Very friendly people, fantastic value for money, and the greens were the best we've played on for a very long time. Not a long course and not too difficult. However, it was probably the most annoying round of golf we've ever played. We must have encountered 40-50 people walking dogs, jogging, or generally just strolling about the fairways. There was one couple who stopped in the middle of the fairway to compare bloody suntans. A good drive down the middle quickly drew their attention to us! And then there was the wait as a crocodile of 50-60 school children crossed the 15th fairway. I know I sound like the classic grumpy old man, but it was incredible and would stop us playing it again, which is a shame

Gutted it's now closed

wonderful 100 year + course. very pretty. It was not very long but certainly a technical course. You had to think where you where best to place the ball.
Unfortunately the course has now closed for good, due to financial difficultly. This is a real shame as I always enjoyed playing there.

Short but Nice!

Parkland course on public common land - nice course with greens in very good condition given the weather. Nice easy stroll.
