What the club says: Pyrford is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and wildlife. Ringed by magnificent woodland the fairways weave between sculptured mounds and the 23 acres of lakes, fringed with bulrushes, reeds and lilies, give the course its distinctive and unique characteristic with water ever present.
The 6,230 yard course is separated into 2 loops providing a choice of starting positions. Every hole is different and whilst the course may not be the longest by today’s modern designs a good score will require careful strategy and use of every club in your bag. The best players may well be tempted to take on the challenge of longer carries yet the design gives the less experienced player a safer and more productive route.
Different combinations of tee positions provide a challenge for players of all abilities and the unique design ensures no two rounds are the same.

Nice course but beware the water!
Great course though water comes in to play quite a lot and so take some spare balls. For low handicappers shouldn't be an issue but for the rest of us makes it quite difficult. Holes could do with some information boards giving layout of the hole and water hazards, and I didn't seem to see any distance markers unless I missed them?Reviewer Rating

SLOW SLOW SLOWEST EVER
Slowest round of golf ever. Over 4 hours 50!! And told by chap behind the counter that’s to be expected as a busy weekend.Marshall has a hopeless task as they let all range of handicap golfers outs. Nice corse in places. But not really worth the money. Bar nice now but service in bar worse that the course as no bar staff and really noisy!

Slow
Far too slow, more interest in societies and over booking. If you’re happy with a 6 hour round and 3 groups on every tee, the course for youReviewer Rating

Stunning course, beautiful environment
On recommendation, I took our golf group/society (24 gents) to this amazing course, having played Wokefield Park the previous day. What an experience! One of the most beautiful layouts I have experienced, where much attention in recent years has obviously been paid to the contours of the course - and according to Adrian, our starter, there is still more planned! A new clubhouse welcomed us, with lovely catering facilities - but the pro shop is certainly a 'work in progress'. Staff were uniformly very welcoming and helpful - and Andrea, our lovely 'host' was on the ball, with a drinks cart which appeared on our rounds, from time to time, and lovely platters of sandwiches when we had finished. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Definitely a club 'on the rise', and one to which, I'm sure, many of our group will return.Reviewer Rating

Challenging but lovely course
Links-like in the way the wind blows across it as it it quite open. With water on 15/18 holes, the course needs to be managed and the driver kept in the bag! A challenge and some lovely holes.Reviewer Rating

Will return and would recommend
I visit Pyrford once or twice a year and it's always an enjoyable place to play. The course layout is a bit different to the average parkland; yes there's water on every hole (sometimes more than once a hole) but it's the contoured fairways, at times linksy-feeling characteristics (esp. no.11), and fun short par 4s, plus two challenging par 5s at 9 &18, the excellent par 3 10th and some good quality greens. It's short but definitely not a bomber's paradise. Pace of play was a bit slow, not helped by a number of shorter holes and all the water, but 4.5hrs on Saturday afternoon with the light closing in is pretty standard at most places in my experience. Friendly marshals who to their credit were actively trying to move everyone along and keep the pace up. Beer a bit expensive though. Will definitely return.Reviewer Rating
