Great course in excellent condition despite being the middle of winter. Goes up and down and all around. Some of the par 4's are slightly unfair in that they have dips in the middle which means unless you bomb it a mile you will hit the fairway and roll back a considerable distance which then leaves you with a considerable shot up hill. But other than that it's a pleasure to play. Nice food both before and after round too and very friendly in clubhouse.

Paid £25 on the County Card and had a great day. Course is so dry for this time of year and the greens are still as good as most i played in the summer. The last time i played Purley was nearly 3 years ago and i cant believe the improvements, great to see a club investing in its course

Best greens I played all summer, having just played the course again they are remarkable for December. Under foot conditions so dry this must be one of the best drained courses in the South of England

Had a great day's golf at Purley Downs. The entire course was kept very well, especially the greens. We played just after a few days of rain and the greens rolled really well. Afterwards we enjoyed some very good food at reasonable prices. Will definitely be back.

Given the recent rain, course was in excellent condition. Chucked it down at various times during the day I played but course dealt with it well. Greens have just been tined and sanded but rolled well. Nice toasted sandwich in the clubhouse post round.

Nice ...if not a little too similar
Really enjoyed the round at Purely Downs. Cracking start on a picturesque par 3. The course is not overly punishing, and if your scoring well then sometimes this distracts you from analysing the course itself.But having thought back I'd say how well maintained it was, (considering the awful golf conditions we're having), but I'd also say it was a touch same same for too many holes.
Would I go back - yes without doubt. A dull course well looked after is better than a interesting course that's unplayable.

Some long par 4s and challenging par 3 greens to hit. Possibly the dry spring meant the fairways were not cut as nicely as I've seen in the past but still some nice turf to play off and the greens were ok but not amazing. Spectacular long views across London. A pity visitors are only allowed on during weekdays as would be nice to give it a second try. Didn't go into the clubhouse so can't comment but pro shop welcoming.

good course, good value for money and some good views over London. Would use a buggy next time but it is a very good walk.
