Lovely course

Really pleased that we chose to play golf at Porthpean Golf Club. A really enjoyable rounds with fantastic sea views on the back nine. Some of the latter holes are quite challenging but my wife who plays 40 thoroughly enjoyed her round. The staff at the club were very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. Also a great place to have a drink afterwards with fantastic views over Saint Austell Bay. Definitely worth a visit.

Hidden gem

What a great course. It was our first time playing at Porth pean ad we will certainly be back
I don't think you can get better views for the price of the round (£20) anywhere in the country.
Course was in very good condition although the greens were slower than I am used to.
The course is very hilly so be prepared for a hard walk.

A golf course of two halves

What a wonderful find. Staying in Fowey for two weeks accompanied by clubs meant we had to have a couple of rounds on a nearby course. Porthpean proved to be a good choice - in fact, we played it twice! First nine through woodland and second nine with amazing views of St Austell Bay. The welcoming was very good, the course was in very good condition and the bacon baps for lunch were most enjoyable.

Despite the recent weather, the course was in excellent condition. Although being relatively short, the course is very challenging, need to avoid the trees!

Very surprised at the quality of this course. Not long but sufficiently well set up to challenge the par 68 for any golfer. Stunning sea views on the back 9 after some superbly defined tree lined holes on the front 9.Fairways and greens well maintained, not heavily bunkered but enough hazards to make keeping in a straight line essential. Would strongly recommend for anyone who happens to be in the area or indeed to make a special trip-well worth it.

Played this lovely course 2 days this week.Made very welcome by all.
Greens are a joy to putt on. Interesting front nine with strategic placement of drives a premium to get close to the pins.
Back nine has fantastic views over St Austell Bay. though a little shorter with four par threes it still tests your game.
Great value for money and a must if you are visiting St Austell.

This is a wonderful course, overlooking St Austell bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The back nine has amazing views of St Austell bay. The greens and fairways have some interesting slopes on them making the course fun and tricky.

The course is well kept and the locals are all very friendly. I played here whilst on holiday in Gorran Haven near by and will definitely be playing again if the wife lets me bring my clubs on holiday again ;-)
