Second time I have played here and it's a gem. Early February and the greens were great even though recently hollow tined and we'd had rain. They had run out of fairway mats, which members all play off, but still let me play. Friendly club and enjoyable layout. Some fabulous views and a brilliant lake district setting.

Penrith Golf Club is a great course in Northern Cumbria and is well worth a try. The course is in great condition all year round and features the incredible back drop of the Lakeland Fells. The par 3's really add to the challenge of this course as well the impressive greens. The facilities are also very good and can be enjoyed before and after your round.Reviewer Rating

I have played penrith a couple of times and have really enjoyed the course. This review is a little late , as i actually played in nov 2015. the views are spectacular on a lot of the holes, i also really like the varied layout and style of each hole. the only complaint was that the greens had just been spiked and sanded so putting was interesting and slow, a reduced green fee would have been nice but did dampen the experience too much. we also saw some deer walking across the fairway which was in keeping with the picturesque views. would highly recommend and definitely worth travelling to play.

Went to pay nine holes but ended up playing 18. Course in great condition and friendly helpful staff. Beautiful views, quiet and true greens.

I've played here lots as my friend is a member here and I always thoroughly enjoy it. Great views, no friendly staff, not to mention that the course is always in really good order.

Really enjoyed the course, it was a bit wet in places, but it didn't impact on the round. If were in the area again i would certainly play this course

The staff were very kind and the clubhouse was very nicely set up with a good selection of equipment for purchase. Nice pub as well! The greens we exceptional, fun and challenging course.

A really good solild parkland course. Greens are possibly the best I have ever played and the par 3's are all a good challenge. All the staff are friendly and accomadating.

A very well laid out course with some excellent holes and stunning backdrops of the lakeland fells. My favourite holes were definitely 10,11 & 12.

One of the best courses I have had the pleasure of playing, despite not completing the round, having retired at the 13th through illness. In light of this, I still recall the first 12, and can't wait to get back for another crack. Made to feel extremely welcome, with a challenging and very well kept course presented to me. Highly recommended.
