Orsett - Excellent course, but way over priced and some unfriendly cha
Beautiful course in great condition with lots of challenging bunkers. However it's way over priced for what it is. And whilst majority of players and staff were friendly day was soured by one club members attitude and aggression in the bar after the round. (My friend was wearing golf shoes - but despite checking for signs nothing stated they weren't allowed. Could have easily been dealt with in a friendly manner. We're both experienced golfers and the approach left a sour taste). That along with the unnecessarily step price would put me off recommending.Reviewer Rating

Nice course spoiled by rude snobby members and staff
A lovely course in top condition somewhat spoiled by rude aggressive members who clearly don't want visitors on their course. Snobby staff who look down their noses at you whilst you pay almost 400 quid for a 4-ball.And most bizarrely of all they don't believe in tee times. They are just a vague guide. So you inevitably get large clumps of golfer all going out on top of each other, all getting annoyed at the slow pace of play. Wouldn't play again.

Play with a member not worth £80
Well established heathland/parkland treed lined course in great condition. At over 6100 off the yellow it’s a long course. With firm, fast & true undulating greens & carpet fairways. With 4,5,6 bunkers per holes. Some bunkers are the Revetting type.
Good practice facilities include a chipping and bunker practice area & nets
Pro shop, Friendly staff.
The £80 visitors green fee is to keep the visitors away. However members guest rate of £20 was excellent value.
You have to play this course at least once you won’t regret it....But with a member

Exelent Winter course.
The morning started at 9am and just 1 degree centigrade resulting in frozen greens but not one single tempoary one! For mid January this was amazing and within a couple of hours they were soft and receptive. Ther rest of the course was equally impressive only let down by one tee out of use but the tee mat was in good order and as a bonus it shaved almost 30 yards of the hole. The layout is a tough test for anyone and wild drives into the rough will be punished, I suspect even more so when the trees are full of leaves.
The pro shop is stocked with a decent range of clothing and a small selection of clubs at typical prices.
In summary, a very nice course, plenty of bunkers, no water and well worth a visit.

Very nice
Well established course that's always in good condition. Nice opening par 5 to ease you in followed by a tough par 4 and then a short par 3. Get off to a good start, keep it straight and this is a joy to play. Wander off line and plenty of gorse awaits your ball. Generally the par threes are comfortable, the 12th is a lovely looking hole. The par fours are tough and the par 5's are not the most testing. It's a good mix.The greens are excellent, the bunkers are all well kept.
Good practice facilities include a chipping and bunker practice area.
Food was excellent.
However, TBH I think they are overpricing the course for non members.

beware of the rough....it has teeth
very similar to a links course. plays much shorter when it is dry. the rough is rough and you don`t want to go in it. You are lucky if you find your ball. Greens are super fast and will catch you out so make sure you have 20 mins on the putting green before tee off. Expensive to play at £50 (in my opinion)Be straight or be annoyed!!!!
