This is a great course and even in mid March the greens were good

Superb course in good condition if a little damp in places. Fairways and tees the best I have played this year, greens where also good. The front nine seems tighter although some of the holes are quite similar in distance but subtle changes in shape make it interesting. Course played long as no run on the fairways and balls stopping on the greens. Will visit again soon!

Beautiful course with lush fairways. Aerated greens although this did not bother me too much. Got asked to leave the bar as I wasn't wearing a jacket and a tie!!!!! Too traditional/old fashioned and snobby for my liking, however, the gentleman who greeted us was very pleasant and obliging. Would like to play again but will have to remember to wait outside the door of the bar!!!!!!

played with my society lovely course very long front 9 fairways brilliant greens had just been airated so could have been better but realy nice course .

Played here late Sept 2013. We were 9 visitors playing some of the more famous links courses around Southport. It was impossible to get on most of these courses on a Saturday because of members comps, however Ormskirk set aside 1 hour each Sat when visitors may play. The course is parkland and wide fairways so we spent a lot less time searching for our balls than we had on the much tighter links courses. The course was in good condition and the greens were very good. No pressure from members on the course and despite some comments about lack of friendliness here from previous reviewers we found quite the opposite. The pro was very helpful and welcoming and the members we talked to before and after the round were most pleasant and also very welcoming. It is true that the clubhouse is a bit old fashioned and there is still a lounge where jacket and tie have to be worn at all times, but so what. If visiting the area and looking for somewhere to play on Saturday during the summer season I would fully recommend Ormskirk

Great offer of a 4 ball for £100, the greens had been hollotw tiined recently but the ball rolled extremely well, the tees and fairways were excellent, well worth £25

Very average course, greens were not in very good condition and they had the audacity to charge £75 per man! If you are looking to play in the North West there are many better courses at a much more reasonable price.
