One of the better 9 hole course's. Bit of a wait to start the back 9, maybe those finishing the front 9 should have priority.

First the negatives: Small car park. If the course is busy be prepared to look for a space! The clubhouse isn't bad, it's not the Ritz but it's nice and friendly.

The positives: The greens and fairways are like velvet. Beautifully kept, a credit to the green keepers. You'll be impressed with the walled tee boxes.

The course is 9 holes tucked away at the edge of Ormeau Park in the centre of Belfast. Not the longest but the short length is deceptive. There are some real challenges here. A 222yard par three plays more like a short par 4 for most of us. There's a 420yard par 4 that has a stunning blind drive.

The card says the the 511 yard par 5 is the signature hole, but for me the best hole is the "Wee dunt" 101 yard par 3 4th. The smallest, most undulated green on the course is surrounded by 5 deep bunkers. Pitching into such danger and coming out with a par at the other end is a pleasure.

If you're ever in Belfast on business, and find yourself with 2 hours to kill, get yourself down here. It's the best course you'll ever play for a tenner!

(BTW, on the way out I picked up my membership application form.)

9 Hole course, very flat with some nice holes, not bad value, the staff are a little stuffy though so be sure and have all the right gear.
