Nice resort venue with some quirky holes
Very good course and great set-up for a day out or golf trip away. I don't normally venture this far south so didn't know much about the course TBH but similar set-up, albeit slightly smaller and with just one course, to some of the big name resort venues. For those looking to stay over; the rooms are great, several dining options, lots of bar space and decent gym and pool. From a golf perspective there is an excellent pro shop and prior to the round you can access a putting and chipping green and small range which unfortunately only allows irons to be hit.The course was lovely and fun to play. Not too long so a good challenge for all. There are also some stand out stunning holes and several which you could only described as exceptionally quirky! Notably; 5th - once you catch your breath from the walk to the 3rd the 5th hole is absolutely stunning - elevated tee and then playing right back down. 9th - they appear to have changed the green to stop the hooked shorts into the hotel so rather than a 300+ par 4 is this a 230-240 par 4. 15th which is a relatively short 250yard par 4 but it's all uphill and it some hill and once you find the green which of the vastly different tiers are you on!
Aside from the quirky holes there is a lot of variety and we found the course in late March in excellent condition. The greens were going through some maintenance and spring hadn't fully sprung so would expect this course to be first class in the warmer months and look stunning! Pace could be a problem at busy times, it was okay for us but did notice a few crossover points which could cause some issues but don't let this put you off.
Finally, would definitely recommend and will worth an overnight trip. Great set-up, facilitiy, hospitality and course. We would have enjoyed playing the course a second time and playing some of the holes completely differently!

Awesome but Brutal
The golf course and facilities are simply awesome. Very challenging course for a mid-handicapper like me, both physically and mentally as you have to be fit and on your game to score well. It took 2 rounds to really get to grips with the layout and how to think my way around the course, resulting in 10 strokes improvement the second round. The distances between some of the holes is quite long and it's very hilly so be prepared for some huffing and puffing up and down the hills. A buggy is recommended especially if you are allowed to drive on fairways (which we weren't). The layout and some of the holes are simply breathtaking, definitely worth a visit just for the views! Everything was is really great condition despite it having rained like crazy up to the day before we played. There were some soggy areas on the fairways and some bunkers were ponds but this could have been so much worse due to the amount of rain the course had had. The resort facilities were good, in particular breakfast. Dinner which was included in the deal wasn't the best but I didn't expect anything special. Also the range is small and for irons only so don't expect to be able to warm up with your driver or woods. All in all, highly recommended as an experience.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 90 Handicap: 17.2)

Excellent facilities, but...
The course was in pretty good condition generally, especially the fairways and greens, but some of the tee boxes have taken an absolute battering.Played two rounds on a Friday and Saturday and both rounds took over 5 hours.

Nice course but be prepared for some steep climbs before you enjoy the fabulous views and intriguing mix of holes at this place. Very hospitable club/venue which offers good accommodation and food deals to stay and play. Our group had an excellent stay so already planning a return next year.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 85 Handicap: 9)

Great Course
Fantastic course with good greens. Very pleasant on the eye with some wonderful views of the countryside from elevated tee points. However the club house is a bit pricey but it is a Country Club.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 15.4)

Good hotel, course needs some work
Lovely layout but it's a long, hilly walk. The greens are quick but need care because they're all tricky. Some (the 15th in particular) have ridiculous slopes on them. The bunkers are poor as are several tee boxes. One is an almost permanent temp tee, even in August!
The hotel is large, but doesn't feel crowded. The food is good. The sports bar is expensive.
There are better resort courses, Belton Woods and Forest of Arden come immediately to mind.
