Great course, well worth a visit
I've always enjoyed playing here, as I consider the course has more 'memorable' holes than perhaps any other course I've played.Greens this year were a little slower than I expected, but were still quick and very true, and there are also some fairly severe slopes to try and get your head round.
Fairways were not cut as low as I've seen previously here.
Bunkers seemed to be well maintained, but I only visited 2, and there was some concern amongst our party that there was minimal sand in them i.e. dig too deep and you hit clay.
We played as a team of 4 with incredible value at ?88 for all of us in their Senior Open which can be any combination of men or women over 50 (I think ? it might be over 55). Normal cost is ?45 a round, or ?25 with a County Card. It's not a particularly long course, and despite having a number of GPS devices between us, AND a yardage book; a lot of shots were short or long because we didn't get the distances right, or judge the bounce correctly.
We didn't eat, other than snacks at the half-way house, and the included bacon rolls as part of the cost of the open, so I cannot really comment on food cost, but I would guess it is reasonable, as I know it is popular with other golfers.
We have all expressed a wish to return to play again.

Windy day
On a very windy day and a lot of debris blowing across the course and especially the greens, making putting a bit of a challenge, but the course played well, although the bunkers had a lot of water in them.(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 15.5)

Beautiful golf course
Northampton is a lovely golf course in some very pretty grounds. The course was in great shape with some really interesting, tricky holes.
A lot of the greens are quite large and undulating with lots of borrows.
Nice clubhouse too

Another lovely day
A lovely day to play golf, grass was lush and made it hard to get out of the rough, sometimes it was difficult to see your ball in it. The greens had been scarified and sanded which made it a little bobbly when putting, but all in all a good course to play(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 87 Handicap: 15.2)

Still need to improve
I have played this course several times before and have never played it well, but this time was the best so far. The course was in good condition, apart from a few of the tee boxes had not recovered from the summer dry spellReviewer Rating

Lovely course and picturesque countryside
Thoroughly enjoyed. Starting with the lovelt email exchanges with Stephanie in the office who was very efficient and a delight to meet. The bar staff serving reasonably priced bacon sandwiches and coffee in the amazing club house which has just the most an incredible views over the 16th and 18th. A sight to behold. Even the trees look amazing.Great course -some really fantastic closing 4 holes (love the views down the par 4 15th -all 440 yards of it downhill). Some great fun downhill shots into greens on 1 and 8 which forces you think!!
Best greens i have played this year - medals need awarding to the greenkeepers : your greens are amazing!! and look so good and run so pure.
Looking forward to playing again
£25 for a county card rate is a great deal!!
Scored 94 (so 8 over hc) so will be sure to return to put that right :-)

The course like many others was very wet, the fact it was open compared to thers was a bonus(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 16.2)
