Greens were excellent and pretty fast, and the course very well kept. Fairways quite dry even after the recent rain so the ball was running on quite a way, adding at least 20 yards to my normal drive length.

Now my local course, it is very well kept and always (so far) dry, with greens extremely fast and drives tending to run on as any rainwater tends to disappear quickly. There are a mixture of woodland and wide open fairways, with the back nine crossing small but well used roads in many cases and the 14th to 18th holes in very close proximity to the A134, the main Sudbury to Colchester road.

flat tidy course that suits all levels of golfers.some of the stroke indexs need looking at,the 14th white tee is far more harder fairway to hit than the stroke index 2 on the 8th!but all round a great course to play.

Lovely course - two distinct nines that have their own charm
Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the 'Top Village course in the UK'Played on the Friday in the PM, reasonable twilight fees
Front 9 a nice Suffolk parkland course, decent hole design and fluidity. Back 9 threads through the village over public roads and is definitely one to play, very interesting hitting approach shots into greens with main roads behind!
Really enjoyed, good pace of play and reasonable fees

Excellent course. Front and back 9 are quite different from each other. Former being more open, latter the oringinal part of the course so has more charachter. Greens were good if a little slower than expcted. All in all a good test. Really well looked after by the staff there and very nice food.

Excellent course/very freindly
Had a great day at Newton Green. Course was in beautiful condition. Loved the layout. Everybody I met, from Pro shop to course were extremely friendly and helpful. Layout is also fantastic. Will definitely go back, alll be it a bit of a trek from Chelmsford. Shame Ididnt play so well, and the 40mph winds didn't help.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course worth a visit
A fabulous course of 2 halves - first 9 more parkland with bunkers, ponds etc followed by the back 9 on common land with bunkers replaced by heather and gorse - can score well if you keep it straight.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 98 Handicap: 24.1)

Scottish invasion
Great course, staff so helpful. Very interesting layout, Required a map, which I was offered in the Pro shop. Green we’re getting spiked, but putted very well. Absolutely faultless in all aspects, even the persistent rain couldn’t dampen my spirits during my round. Will definitely.Reviewer Rating
