A course that reminds me of some of the old links courses of Eastern Scotland such as Montrose, Dunbar or has some of the eccentricity of Cruden Bay. Like Dunbar's Cement Works, the views are tinged by the heavy industry of SE Northumberland and the turn is next to Lynemouth Power Station. Don't let this put you off: the waves crash against the green edges and those greens are superb. You'll struggle to find faster and truer within an hour's drive. Not every hole is strong and there's not a lot of bunkering, but with a links wind, there's plenty of ways to get into trouble. A great value proper old fashioned links course within 30 mins of the middle of Newcastle.

Good course

Very good course some challenging holes. Sea comes to play holes 3 to 7 others are good thinking classic links gold holes.

Very enjoyable

Played this course today as wanted a dry winter course and preferable links style. Very good price for an afternoon round at £25. Not a bit of mud on my shoes or trolley afterwards.
Course seemed to play short off the yellows but can’t complain as very well kept. The greens aren’t very difficult though as pretty level and slowish.
Fairways nice and tight and rough fairly forgiving.

Hidden gem

Glad I managed to follow two members as after the initial straight holes out it can get a bit confusing. The double blind hole was interesting blind tee shot and green in a dip is just to play. Pro was great and all people encountered very friendly.

A great course very fast, great for a novice player as the course helps your mistakes, however I'm sure it will be different when it's very windy.

Great service from the pro on arrival aiming sure we knew where we were going and even came out after the round to make sure we enjoyed it.
Course was in superb condition even at 8am as the groundsmen were still working hard on the greens and tidying up the tees from ll the birds.

Great Course in Great Condition for the Time of Year

We played here as a four ball and considering the recent weather we?d had the course was in great condition, with no water on and very true greens.

Only a couple of winter holes being played which were still a good test!
