never played here before,,quite enjoyed it tough track and long ,,,greens were not poor but very bobbly and could have done with a roll and cut ,,but to say a few weeks ago it was under alot of snow its understandable ,,overall just about worth the £45 green fee ,, not sure i would pay the summer rate ,,as i think moor allerton is in my view a better course ,,,but good day had

Played in the May Day mixed Open. Whole experience was excellent from the practise facility, the putting green, the pro shop and 1st tee starter, the superb course, half way house, catering and the thoughtful leaderboard. Made to feel important. Recommended!

Played as a guest of a member in June13 and I thought the course was outstanding.
Beautiful looking course with plenty of variety tee to green and it continually forces you to make some tough decisions. Rough was extremely punishing but fair and you could usually find your ball if you got a good line on it. - playing at without the heather/long grass turning your club was a nother matter completely.
I thought the greens were smooth and true.
A very challenging course and one definitely worth a visit.
(they hosted the Ryder Cup don't you know...)

Playing in a society so we had coffee and sandwich on arrival so I got there early to take advantage. Fantastic facility and every bit the championship course as you look around from the locker room to the complimentary practice area and driving range. On the course was slightly different, it was gusting in excess of 30mph at times which made the course a real struggle and ruined the card. As for the course it is undergoing some major works so understandably wasn't at its best although it was still a pleasure to walk round.
