We will never return

We arrived in plenty of time , we asked for a course planner ; sorry we do not have one . We were told cross over the bridge after the 3rd hole and you will be fine . There was hardly any signs to the next tee on the whole course ; we were stood on the wrong tee 3 times to add to the 'fun' there was not many straight holes and with no description of the hole on the tee posts we did not know if it was a dogleg left or right ! We only had one mobile with us and that ran out of power on the 4th hole !!

Dear Steve, we're very sorry to hear of your experience. We do not offer course planners due to most people having devices and free apps on phones which negates the need to have them, we do however give out aerial maps with clear directions on hole layouts and directions to next tees, apologies if you weren't given one of these. Replacing our tee signs with new ones displaying the hole layout is something we are looking into so hopefully if you were to return in the future you will see these installed. Please email [email protected] if i can be of further help

Rather dissapointing

Played there a few times over 10 years ago and really liked the course. Seems they are redesigning, and the lack of tee markers, directions and chaotic layout layout left us constantly asking other groups where the next hole was! Condition not good, poor tees and fairways, greens slow and bumpy. I would avoid until they complete their redesign.

Rough shape

Greens slow fairways in rough condition. course under major renovation. Ricky dink par 3 added on front nine - all it needs is a windmill!

Played here a few times but due to last visit will never go back. Phoned 2 days before and booked a tee time for 10:12 with no problems, only to find rather aggressive group of 4 lady members on the tee annoyed that myself and my friend would be following them. After an abrupt conversation on the tee where we were quite understanding of their annoyance, it proceeded to take 3 and a half hours to play 10 holes. All the way round them explaining to us on every tee why they would not let us play through as it was 'ladies day'. Members, please remember when at your course, you represent your club! An age old attitude to the game that can't die out soon enough. Nice course, terrible attitude. Pro in the shop reluctantly refunded after 10 holes.

Not great

Looks like the course has been unloved for a while. Driving range mats were awful, the greens were the only positive.

Leave it until summer

New holes good and make course a bit more of challenge especially 16 which has a long forced carry through a narrow target area. Bunkers spotty, some with good sand others with builders mud. Slow greens, really muddy fairways. Will pass on playing again until next year

Difficult first time out

Very wet after several days of rain.
Several doglegs - knowing the course would make selection of aim point off the tee easier.
Greens have many pitchmarks.

The course has been scorched by the summer, barely a green patch on any of the fairways. Tee boxes are apauling not a single one had a flat spot, the 12th could have been filled with sand and called a bunker. The greens however were very good indeed, amazingly quick and in great condition. Considering so many tee shots are blind I think some sort of guide would help newcomers a lot. There are \"lollipops\" to aim at but some of them aren\'t placed very well. 17th is very very pretty and for such a short par 3, very challenging. 18th is a joke if youre playing it for the first time. I would not come back again, there are much better courses within the crown group.

I played this course as I was in the area, sadly I was let down with only 1 memorable hole on the course, that being the 18th par 5.

The course played well but was not exciting to me the rough was harsh if you went in it with knee length grass. The greens were true and fairly quick just another poor course in my opinion from Crown Golf.

The clubhouse was very welcoming & the pro shop staff were very helpful.

On first play I found the course fairly straightfwd. There are some some good holes but a few weak ones, particularly with the yellow tees in advanced positions on occasions. In decent condition for early March although the greens were grooved in places (a form of tining). The 18th is a good finishing hole. I look forward to returning and playing in Summer conditions.

The greens in poor condition

Fairly good course with a few challenging holes. But greens in poor condition - grass seems to be a tough variety and very eneven surface - even puts of, say, 3 feet are unpredictable. Also our Society meal there were problems, such as slow service, running out of custard (so several tables had to wait till they got some more.

Better than expected

Not been since the sale of land of three of the holes, new holes interesting and new greens very good, overall good impression, condition I would say good apart from the 18th tee, need complete restructure. Its not long but some nice holes and if they keep the condition up I would say I would be more than happy to play it again
