First time I've played this course. Was in good condition apart from the pitch marks on every green! This was a shame because everything else was very good.

Slow and quirky in a bad way
4h 20 for a 2 ball was excruciating which probably taints this review but what a strange place. Started weirdly when walking up to the second tee I got shouted at by people on the 5th tee. Unbeknownst to me I was in direct firing line! Had to move down of the tee whereupon said shouter teed off, a massive snap hook along the line where my head had been. The quirkyness continued, the tees where all 30 yards wide but this hasn’t helped them being in dreadful condition, the par 3s are all too long, as an 8 hcp my partner was hitting driver on all but one! The par 4s are either too short or too long, One long par 4 that dog legs right was particularly impossible. The woman in the half way hut reluctantly served us (we weren’t in the competition we followed) I made up for this inconvenience in free biscuits). At one point saw a young lad wearing football kit playing with his dad, he was taking divots out of the fairway hitting imaginary balls, I love to see kids playing but not in the middle of a member comp on a Saturday on a day where I’ve paid £40 to play. The greens, could get on with them, felt tricked up to protect the course. Anyway I won’t be back. Try Morley hayes for a championship course or uttoxeter for enjoyable quirkiness instead enjoyed those a whole bunch more on our tripReviewer Rating
