It's long and you definitely need a course planner to choose the right place to put your drives.

Only negative was group of members behind us who seemed to barge through our group with their match. The fact we had been waiting for the group infront us counted little for this group of rude golfers. Some manners would go a long way.

Greens were pretty good on the whole as they seem to be at most Crown Golf establishments, a couple were bobbly.
Bunkers (and there are a few) have a good level of sand in them and play pretty well, just watch out for the foot prints that some of the players like to leave behind for you to find...
Sat nav in the buggies was a great help for yardages as the stroke saver is the worst I've ever come across.
Glad I played mid week as the condition of the course at present certainly doesn't warrant the £40 weekend green fee price tag.

Abysmal
The worst golf course I have ever played. In absolutely disgraceful condition. The greens were totally unplayable. The grass was stupidly long all over the course and it was covered in goose excrement. The whole place was a muddy and wet mess, but they can’t do a lot about how much it’s rained. Was £15 but even that low price was too much for this joke of a course. The car park was overgrown and looked like the place closed down years ago. It really should not be open and needs shutting down. Do not play here.Reviewer Rating

Awful condition
Haven't played here in 4-5 years and unfortunately this club has been neglected to the point it now resembles a zombie apocalypse rather than a managed golf course. Even as you drive in the car park is now over run by weeds and overgrown, signs look neglected. Pro shop boarded up and you check in now around the back in what was the club house and a make shift office. The course itself is in awful condition. Tee boxes are mounds of overgrown grass with dry patches of dirt, fair ways are like a badly cut fringe elsewhere and rough is left to its own devices. Greens are scorched grass/mud, no true rolls at all. Sadly what once was a nice, affordable long open course has been left to become out of control and unenjoyable. I booked to play a cheap round with a newbie and we only played 7 holes before calling it a day. Only plus was friendly pro who checked us in and affordable price. BUT even for the price I wouldn't play again. My local pitch and put and school course is maintained to a higher standard. Sadly I feel its either commissioned to close or its future will be to close very soon.Reviewer Rating

Terrible condition
Played yesterday, played there a couple of times in recent years and always thought it was a reasonable course. In its current condition though it is unplayable.I was suspicious when I booked as it seemed too cheap for a Saturday morning round. The fairways were ok, needed to be trimmed as were like playing from the first cut. The light rough was covered in clippings which made it near on impossible to find your ball if you did stray just off the fairway. The greens were the real issue though as they were absolutely devoid of grass. The worst was the 11th that had deep gouges and craters all over the “green”.
It really seems like this course hasn’t had any real maintenance in months. The cost might seem cheap but in its current state absolutely avoid as it is still a total waste of time and money. We walked off after the 11th after 2hrs and 45 minutes even though the course appeared to be empty when we teed off
It really should be a decent course as the layout is interesting and the setting is lovely

Not that bad
We played here as our course was shut due to the rain. I’d read the reviews and didn’t have much hope. The bunkers and greens need some love and tlc as does the whole course but in terms of playability it’s really not that bad. It has some absolutely stunning holes and with the wind blowing it was a challenge.
It’s got some stunning long par 4’s, and challenging par 3’s.
If I was a millionaire I’d buy this course as it’s got the length and views, lakes, challenging bunkers, and great size greens. Yes it could be so much better but it was great fun all the same.
