Not a course I could recommend in its current condition. In order to get a reasonable lie the semi is attractive compared to the fairways which are in most places scorched and rock hard. When you do find grass and can take a divot the course plays as long as previous reviews suggest.
Water hazards and holes in general are in the main a little 'samey', although there are a few that appeal to the eye.
Rough is currently 3 feet tall, so avoid at all cost!
Greens were fast and in reasonable condition although some are almost beyond a joke, with pins on swales so severe that two putts should be celebrated as you would a chip in!
All in all a disappointing experience for a mid handicapper who struggles on tight lies.

Was a member, and now they have turned into a pay and play. Really great people work at MW, course is good in the summer, but close to impossible in the winter due to the mud. They should have treated the members better as well when the handover happened.

Bunkers are poor they are full of poor quality sand. Greens in good order as are the fairways. Would not play when wet as does not drain well.

Great value for money

Best value of all the courses on the A3 corridor. Very challenging with traps in usual landing positions means you need to plot you?re way round the course. Any trip into the rough is likely to cost you the hole. Only downside on the recent visit was poor condition of the tee boxes.

Greens are poor

Challenging course if you do not find the fairways. Many of the greens in my opinion are embarrassing for a Crown Golf site. I think they need to look for a greenkeeper that can get these back to the old amazing standard.

No fairways - grass was as long as the rough

I wonder if this might be a nice course in the summer, but unfortunately it was extremely wet which meant they hadn't been out to cut the fairways. There was therefore literally no difference between the fairways and rough and it made finding your ball after a decent drive very tough.

First visit. Well worth the 120 mile round trip and looking forward to returning. Previous comments have moaned about the water. What water! Just play good course management.

Course in good condition considering the weather. A bit muddy but nothing that should affect your scoring. Greens good and quick.

The course was in a great condition considering the amount of rain that fell. The greens were very good. The course is definitely worth playing and good value for money.

Most golfers have a favourite course and this is mine, I live too far away to be a member, but I will always look forward to playing here. The course is usually in very good condition but more than that its the clever design that I like so much. The intelligent use of water is evident on several holes but nowhere more so than on the 12th. Another hole I love is the 16th: a shortish par 3 played downhill over long rough to an undulating green. There are a few small niggles: e.g. better signposting would be helpful but all in all this is a great course and I'll be back asap. Score 95 Hcap 27.5

What a fantastic course. The greens were in superb condition, as were the fairways.
It's long and you definitely need a course planner to choose the right place to put your drives.

Great gold course, some lovely holes and green are lovely. The fairways however are awful, so long almost so you get no role on your tee shots!

One of the better courses in this part of Surrey, though I wouldn't go near it if there's a been any rain, they have a lot of serious drainage issues. On a sunny day, and there's been no rain in a couple of weeks, I'd always choose to play here.

Course was in not bad nick with all the rain. Good mix of holes.

Only negative was group of members behind us who seemed to barge through our group with their match. The fact we had been waiting for the group infront us counted little for this group of rude golfers. Some manners would go a long way.

The course is a nice layout and should be a joy to play, were it not for the appalling state of the fairways. It's pretty poor when you'd rather be in the semi rough than on the fairway to ensure you get a reasonable lie!

Greens were pretty good on the whole as they seem to be at most Crown Golf establishments, a couple were bobbly.

Bunkers (and there are a few) have a good level of sand in them and play pretty well, just watch out for the foot prints that some of the players like to leave behind for you to find...

Sat nav in the buggies was a great help for yardages as the stroke saver is the worst I've ever come across.

Glad I played mid week as the condition of the course at present certainly doesn't warrant the £40 weekend green fee price tag.
